WIU lost at Iowa State 70-45 and beat IUPUI 90-77 this season. Should be a tough match up on the road for the Panthers.

Western Illinois has been among the top 300 in the nation for a long, long time!

If this season is any indication how this plays out depends on two major factors.
3 point defense and 3 point offence.
If we defend the 3, we can win the game. If we defend the 3 and hit our 3pt shots, we win big ala Iowa St. However if we fail to defend the 3, we get blown out. If we defend the 3 and we cant hit a barn standing inside of it, we struggle.
They key is get the shooters going, but also be quick to realize if the shots arent falling we need to go inside, our bigs are good enough to hopefully draw the defense inside.

If you're going to the game, stop off for the buffet at Godfather's Pizza across the street from the arena. It's been over 20 years since I was last there, but it was excellent!

Out of curiosity, i looked up Godfather's Pizza. They claim to have more than 500 stores in the USA. (They had a store in Madison when i was a student, back in the 80s. i don't remember eating there...if i had pizza while at UW-Madison, it more likely than not was Rocky Rococo. But i digress...) When i tried to find a store in Macomb, Illinois, the website apologized for not finding one. Alas, alack, the pizza-joint-that-time-forgot appears to be no more.

Nor Burger Chef or The Ground Round! Looks like Sports Corner in Macomb is the best bet!

Nor Burger Chef or The Ground Round! Looks like Sports Corner in Macomb is the best bet! Burger Chef, good call. Just yesterday I was reminiscing about the buffet at Shakey's Pizza.

Nothing like a good pizza, fried chicken, pasta, and mojo potato bar. And the soft serve. Definitely the soft serve.

Even I'm old enough to remember Shakey's! Attended several birthday parties at the Waukesha Shakey's in my grade school days of the late 80s and very early 90s.
