Moving forward we need Bell, Johnson and Barnes to pursue game in and game out. We can't get into 27 minutes of game action to figure it out, in who has it that night. Bell was excellent versus Detroit. Gave us nothing the rest of the way. Johnson was good versus UIC.

Great end to the season. Needed a few more shots to fall and we could have been dancing. But it's easier to stomach having trailed the entire game. Would have been much more disappointing had we pissed away a 7-8 point lead by going cold. This will only make the team hungrier next season now that they got a taste of how good it would feel to win the tourney!
As far as next year, I'm so glad Brett Prahl has developed into what he is now. Still some things to work on but man what a turnaround for him! Nze is obviously going to be great for us. But most of all, I'm looking forward to adding Saddler to the lineup. I think he's going to be a top player for us. Looking forward to seeing what kind of additions we make via the JUCO route.
Going to miss Cody. He was every thing a student athlete should be. We asked a lot of him this year and despite his below average showing tonight, his leadership will go a loooong way with our young guys going forward. And he impressed all season long.
The fact that we went 8-23 before the run we just had is not forgotten. But this team has what most young teams don't have at this stage of a rebuild... condidence. The talent is there and now they know they can win. Very excited for the future!
And on another positive note, the loss tonight saved me about $300 in championship gear because I would have needed it all! Although I would have gladly sacrificed that money for a win. Just trying to make myself feel better...
Thanks for a fun ride in March!! If only the city/campus showed this much excitement and enthusiasm all season long. One day...

"Congratulations to Coach Brannen and Northern Kentucky," LaVall Jordan said. "They played a heck of a game. They fought, and they deserved to win it tonight. I've said this at the microphone, I don't know how many times, it's unfortunate that this is the last time I get to say it this season – but extremely proud of this group … just for believing."
"I think it was an inspiration to, I don't know how many people," Jordan said. "I know people in the Milwaukee community, at our University and in our city, inspired a lot of them to believe. I have so much respect for our young men, our student-athletes that are wearing the jersey and representing Milwaukee with so much pride. They showed up every day, regardless of the circumstance and just wanted to improve – be a better team, be better teammates, to figure out how to get things done together. I couldn't be more thankful for a first group to coach."

I want to thank CBS 58 and WISN 12 for sending a reporter to Detroit.
