realistically, we're going have 21-22 losses entering the conference tourney (Valpo, GB, and Oakland are likely losses, UNK and Detroit are potential wins). no team has ever made the tourney with 21 losses, only twice has a team with 20 losses made it (2008 Coppin State, 2013 Liberty) and there hasnt been a team to make the dance with 12 wins or less since the 2014 Cal Poly team that went 12-19.

Hopefully we can repeat what we did against them the last matchup!

Cody coming out on fire! 4/6 from three.
Hard to give Barnes playing time when he misses a fast break lay up.

The first 12 minutes or so were great. We could be up by a lot more than 8. I really love the player Brett Prahl has turned into this year. Honestly he has exceeded my expectations as to how good he could actually. Anybody know whats up with Jeremey?
Also, I really love how NKU does their homecoming now and makes a big thing out of it. Wish UWM would do the same.

Absolute choke job by us and the refs. We would have blew the game anyway but they sure didn't help. If players and coaches can be held accountable for what they do refs absolutely should be too.

28 to 9 run to end the game for NKY in the final 8 minutes. Panthers lead for 35 of the 40 minutes. Unreal!

A little bit of perspective from someone who was there, who was also a witness to the majority of all games played under 2 years of Bo, 4 years of Bruce, and 11 years of Rob....
From my vantage point behind our visitors bench last night, I saw the 349th youngest Division I team lose their focus against a far more experienced and developed team, despite somehow outplaying (and outcoaching) that superior opponent for 3/4ths of the game.
Remember those 10 or so years when Milwaukee continually had junior or senior laden teams that were regularly FAVORED by 8.5+ points get F'ing trucked by inferior conference opponents right from the tip, on the regular? (GONG!)
Remember how that would almost always lead to a 5th place (or worse) HL finish, no matter how high MKE was picked in the preseason?
I don't see that happening anymore. And I can't wait to see where the continued development of talent from competent coaching takes this program. Especially after getting a full year to recruit all the necessary pieces.
-signed a Milwaukee Panther (not "Milwaukee Jeter") fan, who also doesn't give a flying f*** who our A.D. is as long as we are better than a 5th place Horizon League team

Amen, SRT4driver! I generally agree with your posts, including this one. It was the best one since your famous (or infamous to some) "5th Placer" post.
It was nice that you, Ken and Brandon went to the game. At one point, the NKU play by play man referenced a small but passionately vocal contingent of Panther fans behind Milwaukee's bench. Shortly thereafter the ESPN3 webcast showed the Milwaukee bench and there you three were! At that point I knew who he was talking about.
Hopefully with Coach Val in the fold we can return to the point of the glory years of a couple coaches ago - a time when the three of you would have been joined by a lot more traveling Panther faithful. Having been there myself in the same time period as you, until the past calendar year when I relocated to Arizona, I know how fun the road trips are.
I have been in this through the years only for the entertainment value, to occasionally step aside from the more serious aspects of life. That is typically why sports fans are sports fans. While this year's team record is about what most of us have predicted, I have been highly entertained by watching the Panthers play on TV (thank goodness for ESPN3). Somehow the coaching staff keeps the guys in almost every game, despite players' lack of experience and talent.
Most say on Jimmy's gloom-and-doom board, which I find highly entertaining as well, that had the previous coaching staff been kept for this season and three certain key players remained, the Panthers would have been serious Horizon League contenders. Perhaps, but that same coaching staff had those same three players last year, with a much more experienced front line than they would have had this year, and we saw where they finished and how soon they were eliminated in the Horizon League tournament. That is the only evidence to draw from, which suggests to me they would have had another typical up and down year (at best) similiar to the last nine or ten. As for "sabotage" by the AD and administration of the former coaching staff, this is nothing more than a convenient excuse that some use - kind of like blaming referees after a loss.
Then there are the comments that so much that has been built up is gone as a result of the AD's past actions. Those making such comments seem to conveniently forget how much momentum was lost from the BP to RJ eras. And that was with RJ coming in with unprecedented momentum in the program, versus Coach Val coming in at rock bottom.
I know I am rehashing what has been discussed way too much over the past year. My point is I enjoy the fresh approach to what had become very stale. It will be fun, and highly entertaining, to watch this program develop.
I know nothing stated here will change anyone's views. There is too much emotion and conviction among most of us who remain for that to happen. It is simply my viewpoint.
And, SRT4driver, keep those posts coming!

Now that MKE has upset the #7 seed, and the co-champ #2 seed (as a freaking 10 seed!), it's safe to say that despite having less than a full year and recruiting cycle, Coach Val has already proven he's a better coach than Jeter ever was! NKU's coach John Brannen may have rightly won COY this season for taking the Norse to a 3rd place tie in just their second HL season... but I think we can all see who the brightest coach of the future is
