Now that he's leaving, we can blame the whole season on him!

I also don't know if cancelling the dunk contest was his idea but boy was he adament in arguing that it was a bad idea to have one. I know when I was watching the recruits at MM last year and their reactions to the stuff we were putting down, I thought to myself, "Thank God a dunk contest didn't happen because its not fair to demonstrate these types of talents to potential future players." guys like Torre shouldn't be able to display those types of skills in order to garner excitement for the future I think the dunk contest cancellation came from Big D's injury the previous year...that's just what I heard. Hell if we are going to blame the season on him, I say we find some other substantial things to throw his way as well!

You can say goodbye to home-and-homes with the likes of Central Michigan, South Dakota St. and Sam Houston. I don't know about that, hopefully the replacement will be smart enough to handle the job. One can hope. Yeah, I sure hope we can find someone with Chuck's foresight and mindset that can keep the program on the same path. I hear there's a few D-II schools willing to schedule us next year on a home-and-home basis, along with many SWAC, Southland, MEAC and NEC schools. We wouldn't want to miss out on those opportunities...

Hell if we are going to blame the season on him, I say we find some other substantial things to throw his way as well! Just because one person made a not-too-serious remark about this (blaming the season on him) doesn't mean he was not a major obstacle many times over the last few years when it came to growing this program. His lack of guilt over something that may have been out of control in no way absolves him of guilt on issues well under his control. Scheduling to name one. Maybe the dwarf-sized Sweet 16 and HL championship banners to name another.

Maybe there's a possibility of getting the Panther head logo at center court now. GAWD I hope so! Regardless of the many obstacles facing a project such as this (and I'm sure there are many), having someone other than Chuck in that position will no doubt do nothing but improve the odds of it getting accomplished. So HOORAY!!!

Man it's pretty harsh on Chuck here! I thought he's been great, he's a good person and has helped Bud grow this program with an essentially non-existent budget. I don't know if some of you realize how incredibly difficult it is to schedule at the D1 level. Maybe I'm in the minority here, but I think he will be missed, and not as easily replaced as most seem to think.

Maybe I'm missing something here but why would Chuck have anything to do with scheduling?? The coaching staff is the one that makes the schedule!!

I agree bball30...I don't think many realize how hard Chuck and Bud fought to keep this program on the rise. After we went to the sweet 16, nobody of any caliber wanted to play us. Coach Jeter and his staff had a hell of a time getting a schedule together. Chuck may have helped somewhat, but at the end of the day it was the BB staff's call on who they played. Anybody is replaceable, and we can all comment on what we would do (armchair quarterbacks) but I think the criticism here of Chuck's performance is harsh. Bash me if you will...seems to be what is done when I make comments about the Athletic Administration, but I think Chuck did a good job with what he was given to work with. And pantherdon...let's throw the national budget deficit in there too

Besides...he's gone now...let's just pray we get a suitable replacement to keep our Program on track.
