I love how Fran mentions "carefully edited highlight reels" as a reason that anyone who comments on recruiting is ignorant, yet he gives us a "carefully edited highlight reel" as an example of Jeter's recruiting prowess.
What about all the recruits that didn't pan out Fran? There's a laundry list of them.

Every coach has misses. But Rob recruited literally most of the best players we have ever had at the D1 level. (Gerald, Clay, Ed and Boo are players he did not recruit who would also make the list).
And that list was just Wisconsin players. Recruiting videos are garbage. That list was accurate.

When you are here for 10 years, I hope you would be recruiting most of the program's better players.

Yeah, and over 11 years as head coach with all the great recruiting was what, one or two games over .500 in D 1. We can do better and over time I still think we will.

We've just had two crappy losing years in a row. That's the residue of the purge of great players and recruits and of hiring baby coaches. Yet somehow people react to a comment that it's a positive thing that our latest coach is starting to recruit Wisconsin high school players by launching another attack on the guy who hasn't been our coach for two years (it only seems like ten, what with the empty arenas and persistent losing).
So okay, I accept the critique: I hereby stipulate that one of the reasons Rob Jeter personally recruited the great majority of the best players we have ever had was because he was here for a long time. The scoundrel!
Now let's see if PB/not BP can do as well recruiting. It's extremely likely that he won't. Not all his fault, but that's the truth of the matter.

There wouldn't be a guy to "attack" if he wasn't brought up by the same poster in almost every post.
Also, how is there "truth of the matter" when it is your opinion.

And it will continue as long as it takes for this to be the last word on this forum If we all ignore including myself and let that revisionist story stand it will be better for everyone and maybe we can move on.. I am guilty of keeping it going .erytime I see it because I do not think it should be the last word but I am going to let it go. Jeter was great/ The program will never be the same. Pearl is a scumbag and a cheater. Apparently that is how he had success here it just has not been discovered yet. He won with Jeters recruits. We could not have done better. Rob deserved his $ 4-5 million total compensation over 11 years and now will someday be in great demand again as he was a great coach and recruiter, he was just held back here. Actually , he was entitled here with his hire in the first place and then enabled with contract extensions. Ok, I am bitter and need to let it go. I think Fran need to let go too and we should all move on.

This program will likely never be in the NCAA Tournament again, much less the Sweet 16. Do you not realize the program, as it is, is an utter farce?
No rabid fans left (except the 8 - 10 people who post constantly here). No ticket sales. Fewer, if any, donors. A conference affiliation that is downright disgusting. An AD who may...MAY...be qualified to run the Burger King in the Union. A coach who could be great (and then gone) or stink (and linger here for half a decade or longer, unless his son is a 5 star).
What the hell do you people think has happened in the last 3 years? Did you think this is all "normal growing pains" for an up and coming program or something?
Jesus H. Christ on a popsicle stick. What you have all witnessed is typical of a program headed for eternal irrelevance, not Mid Major power house status.
I am sure that Wichita State and Gonzaga went through these exact things...right? RIGHT??? 1,000 tickets sold per game averages, donors fleeing. Budgets shrinking. Coaching carousels. ALL SIGNS POINT UP!!!! (UGH)
I hate to break this too you, but PB will be gone in 3 years. Mark it down. He will get a 1st assistant job at whatever school his son decides to attend (and that school will NEVER be UW-Milwaukee). In 4 years, you will all start arguing all over again about the next "savior" of the program, who will be another "new to the big chair" guy we can get on the cheap.
