Fran, agree with everything above with the exception of Rob. Believe through no fault of his own he was the wrong hire at the wrong time, was a middling at best game coach, recruiting ok but not great and a really lackluster promoter of the program. Remember going to pre-season tip off luncheons taking clients and when Rob was done speaking we were all like "that's it? Have no idea what he just said" but I digress. I think it got even more stale over time and we needed a change, 11 years enough. We should have and can do better . Admit this is subjective but it my belief.
So where are we now? I for one am extremely conflicted. I dropped my season ticket packages after academic ban and was fed up with Jeter run program frankly. Now though I do not want to just write off the program and say it is hopeless etc. That being said I do agree the AD is horrible, the administrative support including from the Chancellor makes Casper Milquetoast look like George Patton. On top of all this she gets her contract extended? Wos...kind of like the current situation in our country, surreal, up is down, down is up...Orwellian...

The startling collapse in fan interest in our program following Jeter's dismissal demonstrates that many of us have simply lost any illusion that we have a program that's not a rudderless ship with drunken sailors at the helm. Rob wasn't the most exciting personality, but anyone who ever spoke with him knew how passionate and competitive he was. He steered the program around more administrative icebergs than most fans will ever know, and had us on the cusp of tremendous success again when the rug was pulled out from under the players, their families, the staff and the fans. By coincidence I ran into an old department stalwart at the airport the other day, someone I hadn't spoken to in years and who had left the department years before our AD went on her rampage. Observing it from a distance this person saw exactly the same thing I did: our AD didn't fear the program failing when she nixed the tournament, she feared it succeeding.
But she got what she wanted, and we now have what we deserve, inasmuch as we don't seem able to change the only thing that could change that would positively affect the trajectory of the program. As long as that doesn't change, changing coaches is just an exercise in rearranging the deck chairs on the Titanic.

Fran, I fear you are probably right here. Know none of us want the above scenario but there is strong probability given the current leadership I agree. Hope we can persevere and prosper in spite of but here again that is where I am conflicted. Do not want to throw in the towel but how do we route for success when Braun is at the helm.

Just when Fran can't get any worse he decides to intertwine politics into his posts. Nothing like making fun of a name calling jerk of a president by......calling him names.
You sir are the most insufferable "fan" I have ever met.
Now make a post and use your dictionary to bust out the biggest words you can find to make yourself feel incredibly educated and above everyone who would dare to show any negativity towards you....

Oh, please.
I'm too old to feel constrained on a basketball message board, and too old not to call things as they are. The national embarrassment in the White House and the mess on Downer have too many parallels to resist the illuminating comparisons. Utter incompetence and practiced duplicity are at the core of that comparison.

Again, that's your opinion. Thanks, for bringing your fake news thoughts into this as well. So, now your pissing folks on both in sports and politics.

Wonderful!
As King Twit's childish eruptions prove every day, there is no surer confirmation that one is speaking the absolute truth than to be accused of purveying "Fake news!!!"

You're shocked and appalled by rank incompetence in a publicly funded institution, yet also a liberal...got it.
Did I see you compare Trump to a Nazi leader a few posts back? Truly substantive and enlightening...I'm sure you've changed the minds of many. Also, calling someone "King Twit," while also accusing them of being childish, is called projecting.
Back to basketball?

There's only one way to get back to basketball. At least basketball as a sport that will remain relevant at Milwaukee.
Of course, it would require Chancellor Mone to channel his inner Drumpf and say "You're fired!!" to someone.
P.S. I wasn't commenting on the President's authoritarian impulses in that particular reference, just his admitted sexual predator tendencies. Making 'Murica great again, one grabbed pu$$y at a time!

A guy like DT probably would inject some decisive action into this terrible administration. He'd certainly fundraise better.
P.S. Talking about grabbing Pu$$ies/Firing your FBI Director (I assume that's the authoritarian reference?? - no idea) totally warrants comparisons to a man who committed mass genocide.

Well obviously he would immediately name Jared Kushner as Chancellor, AD and Head Coach of every sport. Then he'd tweet that the NYT was FAKE NEWS!!! and demand an investigation into Santiago's e-mails.
At least I'm assuming that's what Putin would tell him to do.

That doesn't sound so bad actually. You think old Kush can recruit, and your scapegoat Putin will donate?
