Per a few people on twitter.
That program isn't the best right now either.

Jon Rothstein @jonrothstein · 3h3 hours ago Marvin Menzies with a very strong staff at UNLV: Andre Lafleur, Rob Jeter, and Eric Brown. 2017 class will be paramount for Runnin Rebels

That program isn't the best right now either. No kidding. Fandom aside, I don't like this move for him. UNLV's roster situation is slightly better than IU's was when Crean came aboard, but it is assumed that there are incoming APR issues that IU didn't have to deal with. The interim AD's contract is up this summer and Menzies only got a 5 year deal (Crean's initial deal with IU was for 10 years) . So you've got a hire that was unpopular with fans who will be working for a person who didn't hire him and who will almost certainly have one or two wasted seasons on his five year contract...it doesn't seem like a recipe for success

Is UWM off the hook in paying Jeter's final year?

Is UWM off the hook in paying Jeter's final year? Depends on the contract. i could see a clause that says, "if the contract is terminated prior to expiration, UWM won't have to pay the remaining salary if Jeter gets a head coaching job somewhere else." But a clause that says, if you get hired anywhere, we don't have to pay you, wouldn't make sense from Jeter's point of view, so i can't see him signing such a contract. Unless UNLV really pays their assistants well...

To be fair, that was his second-to-last contract. He signed another one later under Amanda. As far as I remember, the only significant changes were removal of some dumb automatic renewals. From what I've been told, he's still owed the balance of his contract. Chris Hill and Chad Boudreau are still under contract, but if they take another job the UWM pay ends. I believe Sharif was on a similar deal. Hill is for six months, Boudreau until March.
