I hear they're going after Cody Wichmann.............. Sorry, I couldn't resist. You do realize they made an offer to Arians right? A guy that went 1/12 from three against them last year? They obviously are desperate for anyone that can make 3s. Guess who falls into that category? Lighten up, dude. And stop thinking Wichmann would have a snowball's chance in hell of playing in Madison.

I'd much rather see him in a Panther uniform but I wish him the best and hope he has a successful season next year.

You got to wonder even if Jeter and staff were still here, if AA would stick around. What a good thing for AA to play his final year in the ACC versus the likes of Duke, UNC, Syracuse, Louisville, etc.

Pretty sure that none of the players would be considering leaving under "normal" circumstances. Even with Braun running things, the players seemed to be content to stay in MKE under coaches they felt had their backs. Not saying that LJ wouldn't, but there has been no time for them to develop such trust in him.
I am sure the prospect of playing one last season with each other, and dominating the league and getting into the Big Dance was something they would have otherwise looked forward to.
That, to me, is the least discussed and saddest element of all of this. Braun's actions seem to have a large hand in dismantling a very talented roster that was expected to strongly contend this season.
If her goal was to revive excitement in the program, winning and a trip to the Tournament is probably the single best way to do that. That is a lot of what did it with Bruce, after all.
So if her goal is improving the program, why sacrifice this season that way....unless that wasn't her biggest goal at all....and getting rid of someone who absolutely would not cower before her was.
I think it is quite clear that she is far more motivated by consolidating power and removing anyone she sees as challenging that power than she is success on the court/field of any kind...which are hallmarks of a small person and a horridly unqualified leader.

What makes you think they would have dominated the league next season if they all stuck around? We all thought they would contend this year and they ended up finishing in 5th place despite having a much more talented front court. It wouldn't have surprised me to see AA or Akeem transfer even if coach Jeter was still the head coach. It's not like Jeter was immune to players transferring out of the program...

Take a look at the rest of the league. Valpo will probably be down from last year, Oakland is losing a top player, Wright St. is in transition, and GB is losing 2 starters. Of the teams in the top 5, Milwaukee was in the best position to improve over last year. Nothing is guaranteed, of course, but the pre-transfer roster looked very good.
My point wasn't that it was a sure thing, but it was very much possible, but the AD's actions have made that highly unlikely at this point. That statement is not to criticize LJ, but Braun, who was and is more interested in her own advancement and interests than the program's.

I would think so as well, but the question would be why? They all would be taking these chances to play at a high major level out of high school, so now for Akeem and Austin what a spot for them to be in, Jeter here or not.

Milwaukee is losing a 1st team all conference player and a serviceable big man and replacing them with Brett Prahl and Scotty Tyler. Not sure the team was in the best position to improve. Not to mention guard depth was in question as well with losses of Lyle, McCloud, etc.

Arians was gone regardless of who was the coach. When he redshirted a lot of people on this board speculated at the time that he was headed to Wisconsin his final year after he graduated.

I'm not speaking from the point of a guessing fan. I'm also not speaking based on the words of the outgoing coaching staff, in case anyone wants to guess that's the case.

Austin would have been back for sure. Same with Akeem. They would not have walked on Jeter.
Now the rumor is the Jordan will follow suit. No one is left that can score. And if he goes, why would Wichman stay? This roster will be depleted and dismal.

Ive had season tickets during 8-24 & 9-22. I can deal with a depleted and dismal year with the new staff.
