Not sure what the story is here, but I did read a recent article on Pitino's prediction on the starting lineup and no mention of Springs. Maybe he was promised a spot there and isn't too happy about it? Who knows. Hopefully everything works out for him though. He's a great kid.

He tweeted last night about his time in Minnesota being shorter than expected but deleted it soon after.

I was bummed when he left but when his dad said they believe Minnesota could make the NCAA tournament this year, I couldn't have been more at peace with his decision.

Wow, this whole things seems like a mess. I feel bad for Akeem, his brother made it 100x worse.

Looks like my time in Minnesota may be shorter than in thought. It's all good though — Prince.Springs (@springsakeem) October 25, 2016

His brothers tweets were ridiculous, I love keem but I actually laughed out loud when his brother called him one of the top players in the country.

18 points tonight for Akeem in the win over Ohio State. Congrats on reaching the 1,000 point milestone! 712 of those points came in a Panther uniform.
It's about time they give Springs some quality playing time. Obviously he would be playing 30+ minutes per game with us but it's nice to see him play on a team that will likely be ranked tomorrow and should all but certain be in the tournament. I'll be rooting for Minnesota come March.

Springs forces ot with a three versus Bucky. Game winning three falls short for Springs.

Another big game for Akeem, putting up 15 points and 10 rebs tonight while logging 35 minutes. Unfortunately, Minnesota dropped its fourth straight conference game and now find themselves in 10th place in the Big Ten with a tough matchup against Maryland up next.
Hopefully they can get things turned around or the chances of a bid to the dance will be looking grim.

ESPN/Lunardi has them as a 8 seed
CBS/Palm has them as a 6 seed
FS1/Mandel has them as a 5 seed

ESPN/Lunardi has them as a 8 seed CBS/Palm has them as a 6 seed FS1/Mandel has them as a 5 seed I still think they'll sneak in, but assuming they lose to Maryland on Saturday (which obviously isn't a guarantee since its being played in The Barn) that will be 5 straight losses in the conference. With games against Michigan, Indiana, Wisconsin and Maryland still left... they don't have much room for error. I think a 5 seed may have been possible back when they were ranked, but that seems quite optimistic at this point. If the 9th best team (based on current standings) in the Big Ten is projected to get a 5 seed, then I question the judgement of these so-called experts.

Terrible break for Springs. Best of luck to him with his recovery. Was looking forward to seeing him play in the tournament.
