All we have left is a VC. Townsend is a Chicago guy from a very modest childhood. That's a Chicago recruiter. As we said weeks ago, coming from Drake, I'm sure he now has Iowa in-roads. I'm not saying he won't recruit Iowa. I'm saying he has the makings of a great recruiter in Chicago. He also might be the guy who brought us August Haas - there's a Dane currently on the Drake roster, so it's a pretty safe bet that Townsend was the guy who got there. Something one of the former coaches told me about Townsend makes me both chuckle and trust him fully. Unfortunately I can't share it with the board. But he's a good dude. He and Matt Lottich are very close. If he can recruit Iowa, Chicago and Europe, sounds to me like he's a pretty good guy to have on staff. Just get them a recruiting budget that can allow us to keep getting better.
