Panther Arena is currently trending on twitter. Love how it went from almost being demolished to becoming the busiest Arena in the city, or at least close to it.

The Admirals will generate an estimated $500,000 to $750,000 in annual net income for the Panther Arena, according to the Wisconsin Center District, the state-created agency that operates the arena, Wisconsin Center convention facility and Milwaukee Theatre. The district also will own the new Bucks facility. The Admirals will pay $1,500 to $3,000 for each regular season game, depending on whether it's a weeknight or weekend. There also will be a $2 ticket surcharge during the lease's first five years, which rises to $2.50 for the next five years. www.jsonline.com/business/admirals-move-to-panther-arena-brings-63-million-in-upgrades-b99688723z1-372238441.html

Since there won't be any Horizon League tournament games played at the Arena for the foreseeable future ... with the hockey upgrades coming, perhaps the WIAA can finally move the state hockey tournaments out of the Dane County Coliseum.
I won't even touch on potential men's and women's Division I hockey teams. #pipedream

Very good news that can only help our program. Independent of that I'm just very happy that this great building and community asset will be here for many years to come. My head is still spinning from the unbelievable lobbying that came from some quarters to destroy the Arena.
How about eventually bidding for the girls high school hoops tournament too? (I don't think you could pry the boys from Madison with a Pewaukee-sized crowbar.)
