I'm sorry that you feel that a thread to discuss the head coach's record is a waste of time. Thanks for taking the time to post on this thread. "Thanks for taking the time to post on this thread." You know what? Come back to me when you graduate from the Olivier de Smedt Fan Club. Then you can go back to dripping condescension on the keyboard. Welcome to the board, gomkepanthers. I see you registered for the board March 7th. You definitely don't have an agenda. KABOOM!!!!!

Speaking of, we should redo the levels by post count. I vote the top level as the Michael Poll Fan Club.

Jeter is just a few wins away from being the winningest basketball coach in school history. 186 by Guy Penwell is the record. so theres that. Call it mediocre if you like, but we havent had the best of luck. for much of the Jeter era Butler stood in our way of doing more, both in conference and in the Big Dance. this year, for whatever reason, we were unable to close out games, and I'm not just talking about Green Bay in the league quarters. we had several losses that came down in the final seconds.

As I have said before, as a mid-major fan I would much rather have the long-term stability of a coach like Rob Jeter, with postseason appearances scattered throughout and a legitimate Tournament chance once every couple years or so, than plumb the DIII depths for coaching brilliance and have to replace a coach every 3-4 years. I certainly am not the spoiled sports fan who complains about not winning titles every year, and the memories of our last NCAA appearance are still fresh in my mind. We have almost nothing to complain about with Rob.

This year's team tied with four others for the sixth-most wins in the program's Division 1 history and according to sports reference posted the ninth-highest winning percentage in those 33 years.
Not postseason-worthy?

This is a perfectly logical view of the situation. I'm afraid the people making the decisions might lack that logic. Sent from my SCH-R970 using proboards
