I post this as a means of celebrating all that Matt Tiby has brought to the program in his relatively short time here.
With 976 points, Matt needs 24 more to become the 26th player in program history and the 15th in Division 1 to score 1,000 career points. At his current pace, Matt would pass Ricky Franklin for fifth place on the all-time D-1 list.
With another five boards, Matt (553) will pass Craig Greene for third place on the all-time Division 1 rebounding list. He needs 208 (or likely more than 10 per game) to pass Adrian Tigert for first in D-1.
I doubt that anyone will ever catch Larry Reed, who had over 1,500 rebounds in his four years and who along with Clay Tucker has to be considered the greatest Panther of all time. Jersey retirement anyone?

Stats aside, has there ever been a harder working player in the Black and Gold? Matt comes to play.

Tiby is easily my favorite player of the Jeter era. Heart and soul of his teams. He is going to be missed big time in the coming years.

Tiby is easily my favorite player of the Jeter era. Heart and soul of his teams. He is going to be missed big time in the coming years. More important than any rebound, bucket or loose ball he collects is that he instills that sense of pride, passion and heart into everyone on this team so they can pick it up when he's gone.

Boy was Craig Greene fun to watch...I remember the first time I saw Tiby play was at KC, opposing team timed out and Tiby yelled out a roar in excitement headed to the panther huddle! I was like, I like this guy but who is he? A pleasure to know now indeed!

31 and 17!
That might be the best statistical game of the post 1990 era.
He and the team deserved a better fate tonight.

31 and 17! That might be the best statistical game of the post 1990 era. He and the team deserved a better fate tonight. I was thinking this as well. Two of the best games that I have personally seen a Panther play statistically were from Anthony Hill when he had 30 and 12 vs YSU in 2010 or 29 and 15 vs GB in 2011. I think this tops it barely from my personal view....obviously I don't have all of the historical games, but this was a great performance by Matt. Just wish it would have came in a W, but what can you do...on to the next one.

"Matt has really put the work in to find his shooting touch, but he hasn't forgotten that he's still a player that has to a lot of the dirty work," Jeter said.

We need Matt to be all over the post on Friday. If he and JJ are jacking shots, Fouse is gonna have 17 rebounds.
