Not happy with the 14-16 record (Really 12-16) but considering where we were and how the season started I think 9-7 in the conference is not bad.
This team is going to be very, very god next year.
I'm thinking we're going to have a very fun season and another NCAA Tournament appearance.

We need to temper our expectations. McWhorter will be one of the most important losses in team history and we will need to find a PG or else. It's too much to expect immediate excellence out of McCloud, and Justin will need to take a huge leap in order to fill the role. Next year we will be fine but it will likely be a slow-burning process. The last thing we need is more Chicken Little panic if there's a slow start. There are enough Fire Jeter threads here to begin with.

Well said about Steve. He will be very hard to replace. But you are forgetting Jordan Johnson, our PG recruit out of Juco. Played in high school with Akeem. Coaches are excited about him.
Speaking of Akeem, man did he come a long way over the course of the season
And as long as we are handing out accolades, Matt Tiby should be first team All-Horizon, period.

I agree with the last two posts by Fran and Super King. Milwaukee is losing arguably its best player at the most important position in college basketball. We need to temper our expectations.
A lot can and will happen with Milwaukee and in the league before next year.

JJ had 13 points, 7 boards, and 2 blocks against YSU.
I would be thrilled if he could average that next year.

This team is going to be very, very god next year. They should be so lucky! -- signed g(host) o(f) d(ylan) Anyway, too much to cover. I would be careful about hitching my wagon to J.J.'s horse. If he just would be allowed to be the second or third guy off the bench, next year's squad could be very good. Completely agree with the above posts about Steve. My goodness, he might just have been the program's best point guard since Marc Mitchell. One can never underrate how important it is merely to have a lead guard who's solid with the ball. As for Matt, I calculated him as having averaged 15.6 points and 8.7 rebounds in league games. That's Adrian Tigert good. As many of you know, I regard Adrian as perhaps the finest all-around player our program has had since 1990.

I'm not discounting General Steve's contributions one iota, but ghost, I got stick up for my guy Kaylon Williams. He may have fallen short of the tournament, but by God, he blew away the school assist record in 2 seasons!

Bruce:
I love Kaylon. There was nobody flashier ... and he could be Captain Clutch. But boy was he ever loose with the basketball! And let's just say that I want my lead guard to shoot better than 57 percent from the foul stripe.

Yeesh, the free throws. No argument there.

Tiby shot a very poor percentage, even in league. If he makes better shot selection he will be unstoppable. But who knows.

Matt also brought his passion every game. When the team was in the throes of that slump Matt and Steve kept playing hard. The team got the message.
As for JJ was so happy to see him respond after coach went to Dan Studer for a couple games. JJ has a lot of natural talent. Down the stretch he showed he could score inside and out, rebound and block shots. That's pretty good stuff. We don't need him to be a 12 and 6 guy -- but he's capable of it.

Imagine how good Tiby could be if he could actually rest for more than 2 minutes a game. The guy goes full bore every second of every game playing 35+ minutes. He had an incredible season.

Might as well post this here: Matt Tiby finished the season with 818 career points and 462 career rebounds as a Panther. Given his very even splits from last year to this - 420 points in 2014, 398 in a tournamentless 2015; 228 rebounds and 234 - it is very likely barring injury he will eclipse the 1,200 point mark and might very well push 700 boards. (Over 30 games he would need to average 23 points to reach 1,500; over 33 games it would be 21)
Only 14 UWM players have ever scored 1,200 points; only five have recorded at least 700 rebounds.
