What's left of the Journal Sentinel sports desk has told me that our program, irrelevant to start with, is even more inconsequential because of the APR ban.
After fighting as a fan through the disappointment of postseason ineligibility, I would suggest that the team deserves accolades for accomplishing the same.
And I think that a tribute to the team, as yet still unwritten, could be framed around Steve's McWhorter's laudable decision to stay.
Folded into that story could be a mention of the promise that next year's squad shows.

I almost feel bad that Ol' Jerry Slocum will likely have to wait till next season for that elusive 700th win. Not really though...

What's left of the Journal Sentinel sports desk The sports section is the only JS section still mostly written by JS employees. page through the front section (which is now mostly thinner than sports oftentimes) and you can count the articles with JS bylines on one hand. Cultural priorities!

The guys are playing well. It would be nice to be one of the few teams to close the season on a win.

46-29 at the half and that was with a 7-0 YSU run at the end. The only real negative for the Panthers has been fouls.

The Penguins have scored 40 points so far in the second half so far.
A little more defense, please.

So many turnovers to allow YSU back in the game. Let's hope the guys can hold them off in the last 3 minutes. But next year ball security has to be a major emphasis.
