Let's concentrate on getting people to the games first then worry about the extra lighting and stuff. Milwaukee is more of a soccer hotbed than many people realize. It can be the same thing that's happened with basketball. Draw a 1,000 per game and that becomes 2,000 then 3 then 4 etc.

I know that's why I posted it although I must say UWM ULTRAS does have a nice ring to it doesn't it?? Got to crawl before you walk and it also can transcend sports as it does in European hockey and basketball leagues. Anyway it's not like the games are that far off campus right and smoke bombs are still legal in WI. aren't they??

There was a question about how good attendance is at UWM soccer games...
In UWM's first exhibition game there was 268 fans. Not bad for a day game that didn't even matter.

Not surprisingly, UWM was left out of the preseason NSCAA national rankings: nscaa.com/seniorRes.php?it=83It's alright... nothing wrong with being a darkhorse.

If I recall talking to coaches a couple weeks ago, UWM was ranked 28th (ish) in the preseason poll... (That's a big "if")

That's college soccer news, which is the 2nd most important ranking.
NSCAA is the big one.

Not sure if you're bein sarcastic or not.
Just pointing out that just like football has ESPN/coaches poll, they also have an AP poll.
Soccer actually has NSCAA, CSN, soccer america, and soccer times.

not even a little bit. My knowledge of soccer is, like many things, very minimal at best. But I'm willing to learn! If I'm being sarcastic, you'll know it (yes, my sarcastic comments are followed by one or more of the above!) ;D

I gotcha... yeah college soccer is badass it's just not televised. Ironically, title ix helps mid majors have good soccer teams because big conference teams will not have soccer teams (i.e.) texas, illiniois, minnesota, florida, miami etc.
Thus, teams like uwm, creighton, smu, and akron have been some of the most consistent teams in the country and they're all technically mid majors.

I went down to campus the other day and checked out the new lights at Englemann.
You guys want to do a meeting for the student sections. When are we going to do this? I think we should do it the week before school starts, and we should have a day set soon.

UWM went 2-0 in exhibition play, and play Tulsa and SMU this weekend. Tulsa should be a W, but SMU will be very tough to beat--preseason rankings ranging from 2 to 7, and a 13 member recruiting class with a bunch of dangerous midfielders. UWM's experience will be the key for these games. Look for big games from Sperl, Weiler, Bode, and Meier.
