There's no Summerfest in Pittsburgh, is there? No, there isn't. They have a Three Rivers Art Festival which I have enjoyed attending. Yhere is also a stage in the South Side section where (I believe) they have a festival in the Summer. But it's NOTHING like Summerfest,

Over the weekend, Jordan picked up a scholarship offer from Quinnipiac University of Hamden, Conn., a member of the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference. Last season, the Bobcats went 14-6 in their first season in the MAAC and 20-12 overall, falling to Yale in the first round of the CIT.
Oklahoma has also been showing recent interest.

I think Jim Ferry has a good chance to bring back Duquesne at least to where they were in the early 80s. Let's go Dukes!

I think Jim Ferry has a good chance to bring back Duquesne at least to where they were in the early 80s. Let's go Dukes! Which was where? Sixteen wins and "have a great summer!" With its last NCAA tournament appearance coming in 1977, Duquesne currently is tied for the eighth-longest drought of any program that's ever been selected to the NCAA Division 1 tournament. Go, Panthers!

With its last NCAA tournament appearance coming in 1977, Duquesne currently is tied for the eighth-longest drought of any program that's ever been selected to the NCAA Division 1 tournament. Go, Panthers! From 1977-1981 the Dukes (coached by Mike Rice Sr.) compiled a 62-49 record with 2 NIT bids. The Dukes have not equaled that record since. Rice went 20-10 (with an NIT bid) in his last year and was fired. The NCAA had not been expanded to 64 at that point , so an NIT bid meant more than it would today. The Dukes greatest success was in the early 50s when they had a primarily black starting team, which was a rarity then. One of the Dukes (Si Green) is a trivia answer. The question is what player was drafted ahead of Bill Russell. When I went there, in the late 50s, their fortunes started to recede. But, under "Red " Manning, my Grade School coach, they had much netter success than in later years. One of the best games that I ever saw was the 1969 sweet 16, when they lost to UNC on a shot by Charley Scott. (Who did the same thing in the elite 8 to keep Davidson [and Lefty Driessel] out of the Final 4.)

I thought we were talking about me. -- signed Jordan Stevens Jordan: Sorry, but I am easily distracted. If you are going to choose between Duquesne and Milwaukee you will make a good choice, no matter which school you choose. The cities are similar. MKE is probably larger. Both schools are urban, and both schools have entertainment close by. The Dukes do have football, though it is the DIV III variety, with a nice small college field on campus. Recent basketball history definitely favors the Panthers with 4 NCAA appearances in this century. The Dukes were a top team back "in the day", but they haven't been "dancing" since the late seventies. Duquesne is best known for its accounting and law programs. Both schools have distinguished alumni. So, good luck to you no matter which school you choose.

Over the weekend, Jordan picked up a scholarship offer from Duquesne University in Pittsburgh, a member of the Atlantic 10 Conference. In the just-completed season, the Dukes tied for 10th in the 13-team league at 5-11 and went 13-17 overall.
