You're probably right but many posters on other boards do post it as a slight so you more often then not we take it that way. No big deal though. Heck CBSsports.com refers to us that way and I have contacted them multiple times about it. They don't seem to care yet they just list UWGB as "Green bay". You're no better, GoPanther33. You refer to us as Illinois-Chicago instead of UIC in your footnote. BTW, congrats to you guys and we'll take an "assist". Losing to our hideous team was just the kick in the ass you guys needed. In all honesty I've never had a UIC fan complain about what they're all called as opposed to us pushing for "Milwaukee" all the time. If it's wrong lemme know and I'll gladly change it.

"Did that really just happen?" - Bill Johnson on the airplane ride home with the coaches all asking that question.

After last season, I was done. Done with Jeter. Done with season tickets. Done. It was very convenient for me to just say, well I just bought a house and I have too many things going on so I'm not going to buy season tickets. In the end, it was a mistake. This team deserved my support, no matter how many games I actually would have made it to. I'm so happy that I have to eat crow today.
There was a point late in the game where Austin took an inbound pass and sat there 35 feet away from the basket with the shot clock down to 4. Jeter took a timeout. Such a miniscule play in this game, but one that shows his growth as a coach. It gave us the chance to reset and get a look at the hoop.
Go Panthers. Represent us well in the NCAA Tournament. Students, enjoy it. It would have been so much better on our home floor, but for those of you who have been there through thick and thin (especially you Jimmy) you all deserve this.

Wow...just wow... Got to be part of the viewing party at Goolsbys and was glad I went. So proud to have covered this team this season and so happy to see them dancing again! For me, just making it back in the Tournament is worth it. But...HEY, HARD WORK DON'T STOP!!! You were on TV? Yeah, made it on channel 12 at least. Not sure about the other ones.

The Panthers are 4-2 in Horizon League finals appearances since 2003 and in the history of the program. By comparison, mighty Cleveland State has had just one finals appearance -- in 2009.
Conference members Green Bay and Youngstown State and former member Loyola haven't had a single appearance over that same span.
Rob Jeter is now 11-7 all-time in the Horizon League tournament and a combined 5-2 in the semifinal and final rounds.

Tiby is entitled to act any way that he wants. I loved him when I first saw him on 11/8/2013 down at the Gentile Center, and I love him still.
I'm glad you have great affection for him.. and anyone is entitled to acting like a classless fool if they choose to. Even his teammates and coaches were urging him to stop and go to the other end of the floor. Obviously he should have been expecting the foul...additionally, the ESPN guys said it was an over reaction. Probably like mine right now is That's all.
I don't understand this minor issue about Tiby's actions at the end of the game. Let's go back and look at the play. The Wright State player fouled Tiby. Fine. Then the WSU player and Tiby got tangled up a bit and because the WSU player was behind him, Tiby thought the WSU intentionally tripped him, or intentionally did something. Which obviously wasn't the case, but because it was from behind, Tiby didn't know that at the time and got a bit upset. Austin stepped in and calmed him down right away. That is all that happened. Let's move on. There has never been any animosity between our two schools and no reason to create one now. Plus we need to reserve all of our animosity for UWGB and Valpo.

I don't know, I say UIC. It's just easier than saying the entire official name of the school. Guess I didn't know UIC was the official preferred name for athletics.

The Gasthaus was not packed full, but it was close. Lots of energy with the great start to the game, lots of nail-biting at the end. All in all, a satisfying evening.
Just noted they've updated the masthead. i like the look of that.

Arians had no idea how much time was left on the shot clock, it likely would have expired. That's coaching every single possession. In fact, I can't remember Jeter having a better game.

That was the specific instance I was referring to when he called the timeout. Great awareness.

Not only that but Jeter was screaming and pointing at the shot clock before we even in-bounded. After he took the timeout he went straight after Arians. That was the most fired up I saw him all night.

My favorite comment from the JSOnline board: "Guess what [Marquette] gave up for Lent? The NCAA and the NIT.."

I'm still pinching myself a little bit after last night. Unreal… One of my first, very random thoughts: does Dave Begel over at onmilwaukee.com still want UWM to shut down it's men's bball program?

Rob Jeter was on at 9:15am on WSSP. Mike Wickett didn't say Dave Bagel name, but called him out.
