Cleveland State kicked our asses both times we played them- by 20+ points. We didn't exactly have 2 good games against Valpo this year either and look what happened tonight! If we play with the kind of effort and intensity shown tonight we can beat anybody. The last time I remember a game with this much of an effort on defense was when we beat DePaul a couple years ago. DePaul had trouble getting any shot in that game, very similar to tonight. Bruce Pearls' teams had this type of intensity regularly as shown by a quote I'll never forget: "This is a team that has redefined the word intensity".

good point gopanther. they play this way for tom and Tuesday, the 8 years wait between ncaa bids will be over. and tbh, i wouldnt care if we had to play in a play-in game or got a 15 seed against wisconsin, what matters is, that we made it.

Regardless, 19 wins after an 8-win season is a hell of an accomplishment. People put too much stock in the NCAA tournament, especially for a low budget mid-major. This is a successful season regardless of tomorrow's result.

If we play with the kind of effort and intensity shown tonight, we can beat anybody (in the Horizon League). Agreed. By the way, there is absolutely nothing like watching March Madness in person. I was on the fence over whether to go to the game last night after work and made the right-hand rather than the left-hand turn, as Al McGuire famously advised. So get on the road, be safe and get yourself to the Resch Center tonight and help them fill a building that they're projecting will be at three-quarters capacity. Go, Panthers!

Does anyone know how many rows are in the resch center? I just got 2 tickets in row z for $43 total after fees. That has to be at least close to the top. Regardless. Even though the prices are a tad more expensive that I thought they would be. I would buy tickets before driving up just in case.

Lol. This board's oscillation between complete confidence and complete despair after only a few games is.... Well, pretty standard, I guess You're suggesting that the team's play hasn't warranted these types of confounding reactions from fans?

Regardless, 19 wins after an 8-win season is a hell of an accomplishment. It's the second-best single-season turnaround in program history, following the 13-game swing in 1900-01.

I will go back and do this for posterity's sake, because soon our RPI could be *VERY* relevant...
This NEUTRAL COURT WIN (worth 1.0) moved Milwaukee's RPI/SOS from 169/227 to 162/229 (9-9, 18-13 vs D-I).
This NEUTRAL COURT LOSS moved Valpo's RPI/SOS from 182/196 to 186/187 (10-8, 15-15 vs D-I). Their season is possibly over.

a win over wright state could possibly move us into the 140s,while thats not great, it would help push us out the 16 seed line..

Early returns on the bracket matrix have wright state as a 15...our RPI and SOS were higher than theirs before we knocked off GB. That would presumably be a good thing for us if we could win tuesday

a win, might put us on the 15 line, perhaps 14 if the committee is generous.
