You have made it clear, so this is not new news to me. Why don't you like exempt tournaments? Or is it the kind've low class exempt tourneys? Correct. I have no problem with exempt tournaments like Maui (not that we're going to be invited there), the Diamond Head Classic, Old Spice Classic, Puerto Rico Shootout, Battle 4 Atlantis or even the Great Alaska Shootout. What I don't want or like is the World Farsighted Challenge in Battle Creek, Mich. or the Fill Your Schedule Classic in Bangor, Maine or the We Can't Get Invited Anywhere Else Invitational in Santa Fe, New Mexico.

Why can't Milwaukee play in the Paradise Jam in the Virgin Islands, like UIC did two years ago. I got it!

Some of this is obviously performance-based and some of it is Milwaukee simply not soliciting opportunities. If teams like UIC and Marist can receive the chance to play in the Virgin Islands or at the Old Spice Classic, why can't we? Then again, everything played before Jan. 1 is just a dry run anyway, right?

I'm talking about the 2009-2010 Season when we lost to Western Kentucky and Indiana State in the Pre-Season NIT. We then won our sub round games against Texas State and Colgate. Had we beaten WKU we would've played LSU for a chance to go to Madison Square Garden.

After last night I hope we can beef up the non-conference schedule just for the purpose of getting a better seed and getting the players some experience against battle tested teams.

Just wondering why the athletic department would not take advantage of this publicity by advertising and taking orders (with a deposit) for 2014-15 season tickets now? With their late-season run and the NCAA Tournament still going on, I would think it would be a great time to do this. Send renewal notices to current season ticket holders and promote season tickets to the general public. Once the tournament is over, basketball moves out of people's minds. Why waste this opportunity...strike while the iron's hot!

If you order before April 15 (or pick another date), get your 2014-15 tickets at 2013-14 prices.

(It's) not being done because that is a good idea and requires initiative... I think that B-Mo does a bang-up job. After the abomination of 2012-13, he took the time to meet with me individually and followed up with a note.

After the abomination of 2012-13, he took the time to meet with me individually and followed up with a note. I love BMo. It was more a shot at the athletic department as a whole. The main problem is that there are people who want to go the extra mile to do their job well and people that could care less, do the bare minimum and only care about pay check. Meanwhile nothing can get done because it is impossible to work as a cohesive department when "working together" is a non-existent term. Support of the whole department is needed in order for athletics to be all it can be.

Take it to B-Mo: brianm@uwm.edu I did what you recommended and got a response within 30 minutes. Here's what Brian stated: "We are currently in motion this week, to send out renewal notices to our season ticket holders, as well as advertise to the general public to purchase season tickets now by putting a deposit down. You should see something mid-week." If there are problems within the athletic department as some imply, Brian certainly doesn't seem to be part of those problems. Furthermore, the two major decisions I've seen the current athletic director make seem to be good ones: 1. Moving home games back to the Cell reversing the disastrous decision made by her predecessor. 2. Hiring a marketing firm to promote athletics. I believe the problem is with the university administration itself which views athletics as a nice diversion from time to time, but doesn't really have a serious interest in supporting it. Again, I have no inside information, it's only my perception. I don't believe we've had a true administrative cheerleader for athletics since Nancy Zimpher.
