What a coaching job by Jeter and his staff! Agreed. Definitely a welcome sight!

The Horizon League isn't as much a "talent" league as it is a coaching, execution and effort league.
Indeed, the talent is fairly comparable across the league's top four or five teams.
Yesterday, the Panthers gave tremendous effort and were extraordinarily well-prepared and coached.

Just finished watching the game in full on HLN. (Only caught the final 15 minutes yesterday.)
I can see the Green Bay excuses:
- Milwaukee played out of their minds. Probably the best game they've ever played. If they don't do that, we win by 15. - We just played bad. A normal game from our guys and we win by 15. - Brown was injured and only at 70%. We would have won by 15 with a 100% Brown. - Sykes was off trying to do too much with Brown not 100%. Would have won by 15 with a normal performance from Sykes. - Officials were horrible. That was not a flagrant 1 on Brown, besides Sykes was fouled just before that anyway. If the refs weren't against us all game, we would have won by 15. - Werdle's tie was distracting our players. It was too bright. If he hadn't worn that tie, we would have won by 15.

-- If the game had been on Saturday night instead of Saturday afternoon, we would have won by 15.
-- If we could come up with a better in-game promotion than two guys running around in helmets and shoulder pads and tossing a football through the basket, we would have won by 15.
-- If only more folks had arrived wearing Packers, Badgers, Brewers or Bucks gear, we would have won by 15.

Don't believe the video. Team has no heart. Coach doesn't care. Coach has given up on them, the players have given up on him. Etc, etc, etc... Team Has all kind of heart. Coach and staff are solid. Yes, every one has given up, which is why they defeated the best team in the league by 10 points. Why don't you go watch the Bucks and see a team and coaching staff that doesn't care. GO PANTHERS!!!

Second this and jhart05's posts. UWGB fans are butt-hurt. It's to be expected what with their dominance prior to yesterday's home court beat-down at the hands of the "middling?" Milwaukee Panthers. It happens... It's happened to us more times than any of us can recall. That's why- you PLAY THE GAMES. That's why preseason predictions are so often more off the mark than people who (myself included) thought Denver would compete well in the Super Bowl. Stuff. Happens. Remember 2011? Beware the Ides of March.... (and not because of "Et tu Brute" back-stabbing but rather because Leaders can be taken out- just when you think they are at the top of their game). Incredibly impressed with our win at the Resch. But we've got a huge mountain to climb. I can only hope we get the #3 (maybe #2) seed if all works out according to plan and our players believe in themselves as much as we believe in them now after this win. We do not suck by any means. Our coaching staff is not terrible by any means (want a new regime? ...You may be right. You may be wrong. But so often- "the grass just 'seems' greener on the other side". I think our program is headed toward some pretty incredible things- this post-season and in the coming 2-3 years. I know I am in the minority. But if we beat Valpo next Saturday, and can somehow beat both YSU and CSU on the road (or even just split) and assert this team's talent and progression against the likes of UIC and Detroit (Detroit and UIC are very beatable- esp. UIC @ the Cell- I will be livid if we lose that game)- we will be in very good shape to make an HLT run... But it's just how things work out. In any given Horizon League basketball game- the top teams can fall, the bottom feeders can eek out an incredibly unlikely win, and the middle-of-the-pack teams (like Milwaukee, so far this season)- can win against a team with much better stats on paper. We may lose a game... But I see us winding up 20-10 (10-6) or (best case scenario) 21-9 (11-5). Call me crazy if you see me at the Cell next Saturday- I will turn around, pump my fist in the air, and nod with a wicked, yet joyous smile. Because "KRAZY"- is what I am. 'Proud of it. And you are the same- @#%$&.

It's not a foul on our guy when he dives on top of your guy while he's on the floor holding the ball; it's a foul on your guy! Actually, that and the ghost player-control foul against Malcolm were the only two blatantly missed calls in the game.

These last two performances have taken me back about, oh, nine years.
Can the Panthers sustain this level of play for the next seven games?

Jayo is averaging 18.4 PPG over the last 8 games, the period since his 2-point effort vs Oakland. His field goal percentage for the year is up over 40%.

Jayo is averaging 18.4 PPG over the last 8 games, the period since his 2-point effort vs Oakland. His field-goal percentage for the year is up over 40%. And he's 142 points away from becoming the ninth player in the program's post-1990 history to score at least 500 points in a season, a feat that's been accomplished by Von McDade, Michael Hughes, Shannon Smith, Clay Tucker (twice), Dylan Page (twice), Ed McCants (twice), Joah Tucker (twice) and Ricky Franklin. With another 180 points, which would almost certainly require another 30-point game or two, he would become the 26th player in program history (and 15th in Division 1) to reach the 1,000-point plateau for his career.
