73-67 WIN
We gutted out a tough game. Wish I coulda been at the game today but due to prior commitments I was forced to sit this one out.
9-2 start!
Bring on Wisconsin.

Another great win, probably our best so far. Also another situation where the team had to be tough at the end of the game, and they came through. That bodes well for our season.

That was an exciting game. It would have been much less exciting if the Panthers had remembered to box out on rebounds, especially on free-throws.
Nice job by JO hitting some big shots at the end of the game. What's even nicer is that those shots made him the fourth Panther in double figures. i'd agree that the Panthers are a much better team now that he isn't the first option for scoring.
And now they have surpassed their win total from all of last year, and the non-league season isn't over yet. What will their record be when they take on Youngstown State in the first league game?

What will their record be when they take on Youngstown State in the first league game? 11-3. Lose to Wisconsin Wins over Northeastern and Alabama State. Here's hoping I'm wrong about the Wisconsin game lol

Our best 3 wins are arguably better than any win by any other Horizon League team. Hope I'm not wrong when I say this but I just can't envision this team losing 10 games.

Whoops, I take that back. UWGB beat Virginia today.
What I wouldn't give for a UWM/UWGB championship game.

What I wouldn't give for a UWM/UWGB championship game. That would be great for a few reasons! I also think that would draw a lot of attention from the local media as the state would be guaranteed another NCAA tournament team.

Great to see the Panthers crowd show some juice in that 2nd half! Winning feels good!

The Panthers won despite not playing particularly well.
In order to win last year, it took an extraordinary effort.
This is a team of players with defined roles that gives you confidence in the consistency of its performance.

My issue with consistency is not with the team, it's with these refs. One game you have 53 fouls, another 22, another 10, and just by half very inconsistent.
I like that we adjust, but it makes me just so mad to see a call go against us, then it not be called, then something small be called.

The officiating (everywhere) this year is a complete joke. Tonight in particular though I was livid with 4-5 calls/non-calls. Kelm gets hit in the face (no call). A Bradley player drives to the hoop and glances an elbow into a defending Panther (foul). I counted 4 un-called traveling violations (between UWM and BU).
It's just maddening. The entire first half the refs weren't calling anything. Then in the 2nd they acted like it was a powder puff/two-hand touch type game- any contact of any kind = foul. How can you play your game when the officiating is so inconstant? Well... at least we've seemed to manage pretty well in these first 11 contests.
Officiating has always been, (to put it mildly) "dicey" in the Horizon League (we can't exactly afford the best refs)- but this season it has been really painful to watch. But as DunneDeal noted- at least we have learned to adjust.
That was not the case last year and in many years past (we just blamed the officials and got red in the face...). Welp, sometimes you have to play two opponents- the opposing team, AND the zebras. I am happy to see this team recognizing that.
And unlike last year, and I mean this in a very positive way:
This. Milwaukee Panther Team. Is. Different.
