Could a return of the Dairy Bowl be possible? The following would have to be done for the Dairy Bowl to come back: - Pit stop lane would have to be relocated to the opposite side of the track to allow room for the football field to lay flush against the race track in order to minimize the grandstand and the field.
- Build a locker room facility inside the track near the field.
- Utilize portable bleachers to surround the field for games or events.
In this scenario the race track would still be viable as a race track while utilizing the Grandstand and the facility for possible football, soccer, concerts and other entertainment events. Here's a few illustrations depicting a "new" Dairy Bowl at the Wisconsin State Fair: Current Wisconsin State Fair Racetrack: Proposed site with the field and locker room facility on non-game days: Proposed Site with the field and locker room facility on game days (The Dairy Bowl):

No offense, blackandgold, and anyone else that advocates football's return, but can we just shelve this talk for say, 25 years minimum? Football is not coming back to UWM. Bottom line. End of story.

As much as I'd love for UWM to have football, I don't think it'd even be worth it to have a team if they couldn't play any closer than State Fair… or anywhere west of Downtown for that matter. A stadium that's made up mostly of temporary seating barely even seems suitable for a D3 team, let alone a FBS team, which would presumably be the goal.
If you want football at UWM, advocate for a renovation to Engelmann that'd make it useable by the club football team (which could then cultivate a fan base on-campus that'd support a full-scholarship football program) or a new soccer venue that's suited to the gridiron code… and the latter probably won't happen unless the university can somehow get clearance from the state to raze Downer Woods, which raises plenty of issues in and of itself.
Once either one of those things happen, THEN we can seriously discuss football.
