The question is why the hell has JJ not played more? It's a lot like how Rob got lucky as hell with Marcus Skinner. He had no intention on playing him until half the team got suspended back in '07. He finally realized he had a very good player on his roster. At this stage, I think its safe to say that Rob is either unwilling or unable to create and maintain a regular rotation. Neither reason suffices.

This has been one of the many problems this year for sure but it def is one that has been a major and consistent head scratcher.....one would think that the need to continue to tinker with the rotation would be over after the first month at the most, but that is something it would seem is what the preseason is for, maybe im wrong.....

Disclaimer: Didn't see one minute of the game.
Why do I have the feeling that all involved in this game wearing black and gold are somewhat "relieved" by the outcome? In other words, at least we didn't get humiliated.

At this point, I'm not sure I'll bother attend another game this year. Bullsh*t! No way in hell I'm suffering through the rest of this gong show on my own! But... we will need to start bringing alcohol, I'm afraid. Fair enough Lou, we'll suffer together. And BTW, I just got a 64 ounce flask. Not sure where I'll hide it, but at least we'll have lots of booze.

Does our coach have any technicals this year?
You'd think a coach whose team is getting outplayed, outhustled, outcoached, out everything would be piling up the t's.
Come on Jeter.

This team has now lost 9 out of 10 and is averaging 59 points/game versus D-1 opponents this season. For comparison, this is five points less per game than the 9-22 squad in '06-'07, when everyone knew the season would be a struggle.
Those of us who scoffed at this talk of a new "up-tempo" style have been predictably vindicated.

Those of us who scoffed at this talk of a new "up-tempo" style have been predictably vindicated. But what if this is "up tempo"? Maybe we just need to slow it down some more.

The difference between this game and the last few is that there were positives to take from it. JJ was a nice bright spot. The team did not give up and fought to the end even though they were still playing the Badger starters. I was disappointed, unhappy, but at least we could take something out of it.

Those of us who scoffed at this talk of a new "up-tempo" style have been predictably vindicated. Possessions per 40 minutes: 2011-12: 65.3, 238th nationally 2012-13: 68.2, 166th nationally Three possessions per game is a significant jump in tempo, especially considering that the team hasn't had all of its top five guards healthy in one game. Some people may be misconstruing our lack of scoring as a lack of faster tempo. That couldn't be further from the truth. The team is getting more possessions from playing at a faster tempo, the lack of scoring comes from a huge drop in shooting. FG%: 2011-12: 41.7 2012-13: 37.1 The team is shooting, overall, close to five percent worse than it did last year - but that's not the biggest tell. 3PT: 2011-12: 34.6 2012-13: 28.7 This is huge, especially when you consider the problems we've been hammering on all season - letting opponents kill on the offensive boards. Opponent ORBpg: 2011-12: 10.1 2012-13: 12.3 Just from giving up a few more offensive rebounds a game, the Panthers are giving up a lot more easy second-chance points. If I were a player on this team right now, I'd be back to basics: shoot thousands of shots in the gym during break, and practice boxing out. Of course, some players (Jay-O and Meetch) take plenty of bad shots, which lowers the percentage. You know who doesn't take bad shots? Paris Gulley. Paris is shooting much better from inside the arc this year, and now he's leading the team in scoring. I also don't think it's a coincidence that the team starting playing badly at UALR - remember the practice at UALR that was done in the dark? That was the day Bobo Niang hurt his back. He was a monster in the first few games and fell off considerably when the back started bothering him. In the press conference last night, coach Jeter told us that he hadn't practiced much since Mexico. I don't think there's one big stat that is the reason the team is playing so poorly. I think it's a lot of small things, when added up it becomes a big deal.

I know we are getting a lot more possessions a game. But i am one of the people who think that this team should be slowing it down not speeding it up. I think that we are going to fast and not seeing the court as well, not seeing the extra pass that leads to a better shot. I think that the more uptempo offense is leading to much more lax defense and rebounding. Rebounding especially. I think that guys are having to take it easier on defense and boards so the can push the ball on offense for this up tempo play.
So if we continue to run this we need to condition way more. But what what I think we should do is go back to a slower tempo game that focuses on moving the ball quickly and finding the open man (and then finding the even more open man. Thats something i wish we did more. We settle on good shots instead of great ones. Jeter put it perfectly) and play up tempo on the other side of the court when we are playing defense and crashing the boards. Thats where i want the most effort put in. And i think that that is more beneficial to this team we have this year.

I love the "up-tempo" game but I agree with many here and not online, but we need to slow it down and run the offence, when its run correctly, it looks good.

I guess you're implying that they actually have some type of offense? There was a set play they ran against Tennessee Tech that was probably the best executed play I can remember this team ever doing. They play well in snippets. Gotta stretch snippets into games. Tall order.

This was the most disgusting coaching I have seen to date. If I were Jeter I would have got t'd up a couple of times to get ejected so I could just drink in the locker room and not have to watch any more of the game...
