I would argue Bollant elevated it in a huge way from Borseth.
Bollant installed the "buzz" defense ... and led them to their first Sweet 16 (and very close to a second).

I suspect we may look for a female. And look where that's gotten the Wisconsin women's program.

Like I said - John Motherwell. That's the one you want. I understand your want to stay within but i think that cuts out just as much of a candidate base as only hiring one type of gender would, you hire the best candidate, not the closest candidate

He's not the closest candidate.

I vote for John Barnes. He was on Borseth's staff at Michigan for a year and was with the Badgers before that. He also led Michigan Tech to a 156-55 record as a head coach there, including a couple of D-II Elite Eight appearances. He's from the U.P. of Michigan and no doubt has recruiting ties in Wisconsin.
EDIT: He was also the top (only) assistant on the Michigan Tech men's team which was ranked No. 1 in the country heading into the NCAA tournament, like 2003 or 2004.

Bollant did a great job - with Borseth's studs - GB obviously had a chice between Borseth and Divilbiss and chose Borseth. . . .Dawn Plitzuweit would be better candidate than Barnes- won a DII National Championship at Grand Valley - was also on Borseth's staff(s). JB also inheirted a good program Borseth built at MTU (with one coach in between) - and did well to be sure. Ultimately, I am certain the job will entice a number of strong candidates, of both genders, and let's hope we make a solid hire

Also, Borseth built a strong program at MTU, but it was rather mediocre when Barnes took over. I don't know much about Plitzuweit but it sounds like she'd be a great hire, too.
