Wow, what a joke. Nice ass kissing piece Bobbi, one would think Bud would have enough ass kissers on his staff that he surely wouldn't need one more to stroke his ego. I'm not a big fan of Bud, but I do have to give credit where credit is due, the man has hired good coaches lately.

"If I had my way, that 'UW' would be gone," said Haidet. "What I've tried to do is make this Milwaukee's team, and we put 'Milwaukee' across (the uniforms). I think we're Milwaukee, and we're Milwaukee's team. People across the country tie UWM to Milwaukee."

What, exactly, do you have against Bud Haidet? The guy has stuck with this University through thick and thin, he bleeds Panther Gold, and is a pretty nice guy, too. He deserves more than just a little credit, IMO.

Our university, as a whole, would never have the recognition if not for Bud. An article like this is long, LONG overdue. He literally, and I remember it well, took over a program that was complete garbage and turned it into a mid-major powerhouse. Now, I know some of you may balk at that, but take men's hoops away and our program has been incredibly successful for nearly a decade. Men's hoops has now caught up to men's/women's soccer, men's/women's T&F, volleyball and (at times) women's basketball.
Plus, the line of coaches (Litzau, Bennett, Moynihan, Ryan, Pearl, Jeter) is highly regarded.
Thanks, Bud!

I guess we'll have to agree to disagree. IMO Bud likes takes credit for some ideas that are not his. I guess there are little tidbits in the story that irk me such as the drop the UW and logo talk because there are/were other individuals at the school that worked very hard / are working to get these changes done. To me, it seems like he wants to get the credit for getting the ball rolling on these ideas, which in some cases are a total fallacy.

You know what I'd like to see, Kingsbury, is you coming with an actual list of things he has done to support your claim and those proofs. I hate it when people try to shoot someone down with a half-assed vague little snipe at someone who actually has done some good.
I have met the man on a couple of occasions and am impressed with his knowledge of how to do things around here.
Who brought them here? Yes, you acknowledge he brought the great coaches. But these ideas, you speak of? WHAT IDEAS. Come on, concrete proof! I need evidence!

I was at the girls game last week covering it, and before DePaul's coach came in, the Haidets came in. It was obviously the first time they saw Bobbi since it was published, because it was a nice little "awww, hey girl" "bobbi, it was great!" and women hugging yada yada.

Yeah because all credible journalists are hugging people they write stories on.

Bud has done an incredible job here. I don't recall anywhere in that article where he took credit for the idea of dropping the UW. That idea has been around since the 70's.
He didn't say "I put Milwaukee across the uniforms.." he said "WE put Milwaukee...
The guy has gotten a major committment out of the University for Men's BB. He hires great coaches, restored the men's soccer team to national prominence and led the charge in other sports too.
We are lucky to have him
