UWM had 19 turnovers to UIC's 15, but outscored them 26-16 off those turnovers. That's almost 2 full points for every turnover.

Good points King, and mupanther.
Like I said, I'd want to know the specifics of each plan. I think the atmosphere tonight was better than any other first round game I've seen, and I think a lot of people were won over who previously thought an on-campus arena wouldn't work.

Can't wait for tonight! I see the other 3 games all start an hour b4 ours so during halftime or early in the 2nd half we should already know who has advanced and who we will be looking to play should we win tonight. My prediction: Panthers 68 Flames 57 Wow lol missed my prediction by one bucket for UIC.

Ed McCants was at the game, which was neat.

UIC as classless as ever. Their band can't wait for their F'ing turn to play a song. As always, the armpit of the HL.

Ed McCants was at the game, which was neat. I wonder if he and Chris Hill had a nice reconciliation moment after the argument on facebook.

Did anyone point out that Jeremy's prediction was two UIC points off?

Did anyone point out that Jeremy's prediction was two UIC points off? I did a few posts ago lol. Right as the game was ending I realized it was close lol Said earlier today on the board that I had a hunch the scoring would be in that range.

...Their band can't wait for their F'ing turn to play a song.... To be fair, neither did we. Nor did our band assert itself as the "home" band. It's what happens with young directors. This was the best Band UIC has ever assembled, mainly because of the work of one our own. Former Panther Band Member and graduate of the Peck School of the Arts, Nick Carlson, turned that program around. (BigD and other UIC fans who read this consider supporting the band) After decades of musical dominance in the Horizon League we now have a musical rival at UIC (I should clarify: for basketball bands only, not the overall music program). It's just another example of how Milwaukee is impacting the HL for the better.

UIC as classless as ever. Their band can't wait for their F'ing turn to play a song. As always, the armpit of the HL. This coming from someone associated with a fanbase that had to be muted by their local TV station when chanting "Asshole" after Moore picked up a technical. No offense to the good UWM fans, but your group as a whole should be the last one lecturing on class. Half of your organized chants are just some form of simple-minded obscenity. Good luck against Butler....I hope you beat the hell out of them.

I personally hope that we're always joined at the hip with UIC.
There's no school that more closely approximates our profile.
Here's hoping that the Flames get back on their feet soon.

Here, here... Was on campus for the game last night and found it quite nice. Never been there before though coming to Milwaukee and the Cell and BC often, as well as Marquette.
It would certainly be great if you were able to get an on campus arena to your liking. Great atmosphere. But it looks like you are a bit land locked, like many inner city/urban schools where real estate is both limited and expensive. Ala De Paul and Loyola in Chicago. Enjoyed the trip and experience, except for the game which is our fault. Left a lengthy analysis on our board regarding our stuff.
Would love busloads of fans going back and forth between our schools/cities each year in a fun, competetive rivalry. I mentioned great restaurants in both places. I'll definitely be back in the "off season."
Congratulations and good luck....
