Good lord, we can't even get the students and fans to stand and clap during the god damn fight song, now you want us to choreograph?
Eek, Tommy. Good luck.

Horrified US Cellular Arena staff would panic and call for everyone to get arrested.

Alright..points made.
As far as the stand til we score the first points...I think that can be done..but we need to get everyone on this board to do it..and tell all the season tix holders around them to do it too. We would also need the AD to make Bob say something like.."come on fans get on your feet and protect the home court as we stand til the Panthers score!"

I just wish we'd stop seeing things that other schools do and saying, "Let's do that!" and start focusing on thinking up our own ideas. It's wh I wish we'd start integrating our soccer chants into basketball games, because they'd be mostly unique to us.

I can't argue that point enough. the u dub-u m, great taste/less filling, milwaukee-clap clap clap are all unique to us (started by the band) and I love the Milwaukee-->Panthers whole arena cheer. We have a good foundation from previous panther generations it's time we build on it. pm me if you wanna meet pre-game sometime.

If we can get enough people to do it, I really like the idea of doing Milwaukee/Panthers in the pregame to get the crowd hyped. Moreso than "I believe..." which certifiably belongs to Utah State.
If anyone is willing to chip in a few bucks, we can even get "MILWAUKEE" and "PANTHERS" placards made to hold up to the crowd to signal to each party what to say. I doubt the cheerleaders would be opposed to the idea. Al can even take credit, like he likes to do.

Definitely, the MILWAUKEE/PANTHERS chant gives me chills, especially when you have 100+ student fans and 5,000+ fans in the Cell chanting it...
If we truely want to make our own identity, we do need to stop the copy cat of other schools.
Besides, the "I Believe" chant is a dead fad now. I did Sports 32 high school football games this last fall and 3/4 of the student fans did the "I Believe."
Let's continue to work the MILWAUKEE/PANTHERS chant, and also the Great Taste/Less Filling...always love seeing the opposing fans give us confused looks when we do that...Plus I also like the clap-clap-clapclapclapclap-clap-clap-STOMP. Also, we need to bring back Roll Out the Barrel (TUBA SOLO)

The silence in their arena before they launch into it is just as exciting as the chant itself. I want there to be chilling silence before Milwaukee/Panthers, dammit!

Three things.
One, I always enjoyed the "Rob-bie Je-ter" chant at the end of W's, and I've never seen another school do that.
Second, why don't you guys sit down and try and come up with something catchy, easy to learn, and original? This shouldn't take too long, the students are creative in their jeers towards players, why can't they be in coming up with a chant?
Lastly, I've always thought the best possible arena chant (where everyone is involved) would be the students yelling "MIL", the west stands yelling "WAU" and the east stands yelling "KEE".
It would take some teaching - I think the crowd would really get it if we taught it over the jumbotron - but definitely is the kind of cheer that we can get going once people know it. It's easy to learn (you just have to teach it), it's easy to yell (Each section only is responsible for 1/3 of the cheer), and it's all about the identity of the program and our people.
I'd love to see the JS call it the "UW-Milwaukee chant" in the paper.

Sort of off topic, but I had an idea for a hand sign similar to the Texas "horns," Miami's "U" and Oregon's... uhhh... vagina. Basically, you take your right hand and have it facing outward with all four fingers together, but the thumb extended so that it resembles the state of Wisconsin. Then with your left index finger, point to where Milwaukee would be on the map (at the base of the thumb bone, slightly above the wrist). A pro wrestling tag team called the Motor City Machine Guns does a similar gesture (with the thumb next to the rest of the hand, to resemble the lower part of Michigan).
