Good question, mupanther.
I had heard somewhere that it was simply a "buy" game.
Wouldn't it be great to walk out of the Rosemont with a win and wad of cash?

I hope the Panthers can win this game. I know DePaul is 3-6, it would just be big for the Panthers program to beat a Big East school. Can we stop giving them an old fashioned just for being in the Big East? They're barely in the Big East. They have 21 victories in 87 games in 5 seasons in the conference, an average of 4.2 victories per season in a 16 game schedule. They only have one victory in the last two Big East seasons (suck it Marquette) and only one victory in the Big East Tournament, an incredible victory over NINE seed Cincinnati. They suck. We could replace them in the Big East today and only Marquette would notice. Hell, we'd probably finish between 12 and 15 in the conference and be better than them. Forget the conference they play in and recognize the quality of the team. We SHOULD win this game.

It's in Chicago (or Rosemont anyway) and we have played terribly on more than one occasion this season. We should be competitive no doubt, but to say we should win is looking at this game through black and gold-colored glasses. It depends on which team shows up.
Go Panthers!

Yes Depaul plays in the big east conference, but losing this game would be tantamount to losing to a swac team. Depaul's 3-6 record is inflated by the fact that they have the cash to pay teams to come play them at home. The BE has been the dominate conference in college basketball the last few years, but with that many teams in the conference they're bound to have a stinker or two in any given year. Depaul is different though. They are the YSU of the BE.
Should we win this game? YES. Will we? Who knows.
I think we will. I'm hoping the team has had their mid-season turnaround a little sooner this year. It generally coincides with the first appearance of the fire Rob Jeter thread, so I have no reason to believe we won't win.

So keys to tonights game?
Press Break. I for some reason think DePaul likes to press, so we need Kaylon to play well tonight.
Take and Make the Jump Shot. Outside shooting and Jump Shooting is killing DePaul, if Ja'Rob/Tone/Kyle/ ect. can hit their shots we should be good.
ANT HILL in the Post. One thing with Ant, he doesn't play up to guys his size/strength so tonight he needs to be a beast in the post, make the Demons come guard you so you can kick it back out.
According to their fans "DePaul is giving up 49.2 from the floor shoot percentage for opp teams, but only allowing 19.6% of the shots DePaul's opponents take are from behind the arc, so the book to beat DePaul is simple; get it down low and score."
So go low, and hope we get the YSU Ant Hill.
I'll be heading out in about an hour or so, pray for light traffic (hahaha)

I was waiting for you on this!! ;D ;D ;D DePaul hasn't don't well in the Big East, but they are still a Big East school. Outsiders will view this game with a win at DePaul better than Northern Iowa or South Dakota State.

What mupanther said.
In some corners, perception far outpaces reality.

And i hope Buppie's observation proves to be true...

8 turnovers. Lovely.
Rebounding numbers are real ugly at this point, too.

Sounds like Ja'Rob is in one of those moods tonight where he thinks he's the whole team.

Panthers have scored 3 point in the last 8+ minutes.
I'm not watching, but it seems and sounds like the officiating is superb in this one.

The good in the first half: 80% from the line, only four team fouls.
The bad in the first half: 9 turnovers, only eight rebounds, 39% from the field. Getting unequivocally obliterated on the boards.
