I really like the chant of "milwaukee - panthers" going across the arena, it really gets the whole place buzzing. we need more of that. perhaps we could add "black - gold" (or something similar) to the mix just to add another chant that can get the "old folks" into the game. thoughts?
the one chant that needs to go now is the virgin chant. it really is obnoxious and doesn't really make much sense. we're better than that, lets get creative and come up with something better. and seriously it doesn't matter who we're playing against these are college basketball players, i'm pretty sure they get more tail than the entire student section combined.

I was gonna make special mention of the Milwaukee - Panthers chant, back and forth with the old folks. Probably my new favorite chant. (ok maybe not better than f*ck Loyola, that is an absolute classic)

The Penn State chant or what Penn State does, whatever you want to word it, needs to be done more.

Thank You!! Lose the 'virgin' chant. It's embarrassingly immature. But that starts with the students. To the front row regulars and upperclassmen, end that one by killing it as soon as it gets going. We could start a 'Go Black!' - 'Go Gold' chant, but a lot of teams use that one. Just throwing something out there.

While I personally wouldn't care if we did that chant again or not, it's not like its really vulgar or a racial/personal attack. Is it sophomoric? Yeah but it's not something that's too shocking to hear at a college game.

How about a "stand up old people" chant when the place gets to be a little too quiet... especially during big moments of the game. I think I was at a Badger hockey game many years ago when this was yelled one time. Definitely made me laugh.
Plus, I'm 26 now and quickly becoming an old man... so I need to be reminded every now and then.

Before a "stand up old people" makes any sense, how about we throw out a "show up students" chant?

Before a "stand up old people" makes any sense, how about we throw out a "show up students" chant? Same can be said for the alumni and it really doesn't make sense to call out the students who are already actually at the games.

I did find it humorous that we were told to sit down during our great run in the closing minutes of the Marquette game because we were the only ones standing.

I'm going to bump this and for this reason.
As many of you know I was a freshman in 04-05 the Sweet 16 year, and its because of that we got alot of students to stay fans of Panther BBall for a few years. If we want to push and keep the numbers up for next season we need to push. We will see an influx in students for Saturday...ESPN, NCAA Tournament on the line ect ect.
This is a game we need to target. PantherU needs to come together with some SBGC people in friendly ways and if you want to start some student section tradition like the "Interlude Dance" or something we could do as Milwaukee to make it "our thing". We need to push it now, get it up on Facebook, YouTube, Flickr, Twitter. So lets get some ideas rolling for something unique to push for this game that we can make our own.

We need a PEP RALLY.
I'll bring this up to Rob & co at the radio show, but there needs to be a big fat rally in the dorms sometime during the week, maybe Wednesday or Thursday, to get everyone acclimated to the student section, get them to understand the chants and what to do during the fight song, and get them excited for the game.

When hosting the HL Tourney in Milwaukee was as sure as the sun rising, Pearl and company would have large pep rallies at Turner Hall. They were great fun... the band, cheerleaders, coach Pearl, beer. I'd love to see that kind of event resurrected. Those were also the days of students waiting in line to get inside. That needs to happen Saturday. Students, get there early and establish your presence!

i dunno about everyone else...but i'm going to the first semifinal game on Saturday to a) make sure that I get front row for our game and b) root on the lower seed (if it's BU-CSU i say all our regular Krazies show up and root for cleveland, like a throwback to 08-09 in Indy)
