Rogue, is where it's at. Dead Guy Ale is my favorite brew even if it is $10 for a 6 pack.

Good luck with your research. My grandparents worked in breweries in Milwaukee and my parents were from West Allis. When Blatz was king there, Blitz was it here. But I suspect that both places do a better job now. If you want to do your own research, There are 35 breweries and probably 300 brewpubs. the record is a Pint (British) at each of 34 in one day. the 35th was closed. here's a couple links to start you on your way. wweek.com/story.php?story=14057&cat=56gonw.about.com/od/beerbreweriesinoregon/tp/portlandbrewpubs.htmgood luck and report back. But my fav isn't even a Portland brew. If you run across some Pliny the Elder (Russian River brewery - Chico CA) the hops will knock your socks off. Bridgeport's Hop Czar comes close.

If you're comparing your microbrews to Miller, Leinenkugel's, Pabst, Blatz, and Schlitz, then yeah, I'd probably get what you're saying. But we have a very, very healthy microbrewery industry here...Lakefront, Ale House, St. Francis, Horny Goat, and others make you have to dig deeper than the standard.

As a born and bred Wisconsinite, it pains me to say this but...
Our Microbrews would get their asses kicked by the Oregon breweries. I lived there 2 summers, and its not even close.
One exception is Mai Bock and Dopple Bock. I never found one in OR that compared to Capitol Brewery's Dopple Bock or Sprecher's Mai Bock.

North coast Brewery, which happens to be on the west coast in Fort Bragg Cali, makes a delicious Russian Imperial stout. Their wheat beer is delicious along with the red seal ale. Also in the Russian River area but a good ways away from Chico. This micro brewery heads up against Lakefront would be a tough competition to judge.
Anyways, our size and athleticism in the post should be able to disrupt what sikma wants to do, but this team can beat teams by living on the perimeter and that scares me. I think our bigs that can shoot from outside will be a big advantage and stretch the D for us to get the ball back downlow. I don't mind seeing Ant shoot 3's if they don't honor him from out there, and I could see scenarios where all 5 guys on the floor will be able to shoot it from out there

Yeah, let's get back to the game.
Dylan, what's your analysis of this game? How do you like our chances?

Fascinating matchup. I would think that the Panthers are an ever-so-slight underdog.
The Pilots rely heavily upon the first seven players in their rotation, especially the senior troika of Jared Stohl, one of the top 3-point percentage shooters in the country; Kramer Knutson, a rangy 6-8, 220-pound all-academic honoree; and Luke Sikma, the highly efficient son of former NBA great Jack, who played with the old Seattle SuperSonics and the Bucks.
The other members of Portland's "real" rotation, who played 180 of the 200 available minutes in the team's 68-65 victory over NAIA powerhouse Concordia Irvine, are starting point guard Eric Waterford, a 6-1, 180-pound junior from Modesto St. Thomas More and Nemanja Mitrovic, a 6-5, 200-pound starting wing forward from Toronto; and reserves Tanner Riley, 6-3, 200-pound freshman guard from North Bend, Wash and sophomore Derrick Rodgers, a 6-1, 200 sophomore from Rancho Cucamongo, Calif.
The matchups for this game are clear, as you'll see Ant Hill (6-8, 235) facing Sikma (6-8, 235), a powerful rebounder and efficient offensive player; Tony Meier (6-8, 220) squaring off with Knutson, who has a similar profile physically and academically; Tone Boyle, a three-point specialist, matching wits and hand-checks with Stohl; Jerard Ajami (6-3, 200) doing battle with Mitrovic, who doesn't do much scoring, on the wing; and Kaylon Williams pairing up with Waterford, who does his best work with pump fakes in the paint, at the point.
The Pilots did sustain some pretty significant graduation losses, with the foremost among them being Nic Raivio, the brother of former Gonzaga Bulldog Derek. Among the other losses incurred by the Pilots were starting point guard T.J. Campbell, starting power forward Robin Smeulders and starting small forward Ethan Niedermeyer.
Lots more to say.

I don't know enough about Portland's team to have a specific sense of the matchup. But Portland is obviously a legit mid-major program that has had recent success in a good league, has good players returning and is at home. That establishes them as a decided favorite in this game, in my opinion. That said, this is where the Italian trip may really pay off for our guys. And we probably have depth the Pilots do not.
This game and Niagara will obviously be the two toughest on the trip. I would be satisfied if we went 2-2, and absolutely delighted if we came home 3-1. So if we could pull off the upset in this game, it would give us a huge leg up.
