Gotta love that they cover Marquette as a local team; after all, it is.

Gotta love that they cover Marquette as a local team; after all, it is. You're right. It's nice to multiple "local" markets, and have that kind of appeal and range to more than the Milwaukee metro area. On another note, does anyone know about when they'll be releasing the rest of the tickets for the Marquette @ UW-Milwaukee game? I'm assuming it hasn't/won't sell out via the 4-packs, and have no interest in purchasing one just to get the MU game.

Thanks. And they'll always be UW-Milwaukee or UW-M to me. That's what I grew up calling them.

Wins and losses aside (I am as pissed as anyone that we got blown out yesterday), after reading smug crap like this, some of you can honestly still say that our team brand name is unimportant?
Maybe the AD and Uni marketing people should just take muGold2007's advice..
Where can I get my "UW-M Basketball" Sweatshirt?

Thanks. And they'll always be UW-Milwaukee or UW-M to me. That's what I grew up calling them. That's cute. And I'll keep calling you the Gold. You might get better luck calling the athletics ticket office (229-5886) than coming on our board and acting like a pretentious douchebag.

I think you're looking to be offended on this one. I was just stating what I've always known you guys as; that's not an insult, nor were any of my other posts. That's not being pretentious or a "douchebag." I'm assuming you think I was being pretentious when I said I didn't want to buy a ticket package? If not, please explain how I was "being a pretentious douchebag," in detail with citation to specific posts in this thread. By the way, it's not that I don't want to buy a ticket package because it's UW-M, it's that I am going to be in Milwaukee for the game, and it's not cost-effective for me to buy a package that I'd have to worry about reselling. That's not being pretentious. I don't buy MU season tickets or packages for the same reason. Anyways, thanks for the help to the other poster. Thanks. And they'll always be UW-Milwaukee or UW-M to me. That's what I grew up calling them. That's cute. And I'll keep calling you the Gold. You might get better luck calling the athletics ticket office (229-5886) than coming on our board and acting like a pretentious douchebag.

I totally understand not living in Milwaukee and wanting to get a single game ticket, but I would say using "UW-M" (with an explicit and un-necessary hyphen) to reference our team (with full knowledge that no signage/images/logos/etc. exist with "UW-M") is kind of a D-Bag move. We aren't stupid.. we get it. You realize we have this branding/naming complex so you exploit it.
Well that's all well and good. While I and thankfully many others will continue to work toward solidifying a brand for Panther hoops (btw- how well known was the acronym "MU" before Marquette made it their primary logo??), you can call me/us hypersensitive about this issue. I don't care- I am going to call (BS) like I see it. And I expect others to do the same (even on my BS).

On topic! Vander Blue is having an incredibly difficult time adjusting to college basketball. Discuss! After one game? Seriously? According to Mark Miller, Vander looked very good in his debut. And, he filled the stat sheet pretty well, no?

On topic! Vander Blue is having an incredibly difficult time adjusting to college basketball. Discuss! That's just silly and blatantly false. In the first two games he has played amazing defense, and last night he had a pretty great line (outside of the 4 TOs). If he was on UW-M (or from what I'm told here, "Milwaukee"), he'd be starting.
