I was under the impression the Walgreens on Oakland was to become a Goodwill store, sort of a "done deal" already.

Our discussions with the owners of the property told us that they wanted a permanent tenant; the Express is only there for three months.

Just got back from the vip opening of Replay tonight, not gonna lie it was pretty sweet.
30 some odd plasma screens 2 HD projectors. as for the styling i'd call it "upscale sports bar." most of the decor is of packers, brewers, and bucks pics. they have 1 wall representing Wisconsin's 3 Universities MKE, UW, and mu.
the high quality of food you knew at twisted fork has been applied to the new menu, such as the pesto burger i had tonight. they carry both direct tv and time warner so this could be a good spot for the panther faithful to catch out of town games.
be sure to check it out.

there could be some stuff in the back room that i didn't get back to see.
but in the main bar area there is a picture of bucky, a sideline shot of mu's bench during a game, and a shot of our student section from the 2006 horizon league championship game.
a beer fridge had a few bumper-stickers on it badgers and an mu one, i'm sure if you give 'em one of ours they'd slap it on there.
otherwise everything else i saw was pro-sports related, the majority being packers stuff. but that could change with the season which would be cool.
edit: oh yea, they also hired some very attractive ladies. so if that's not a reason go i don't know what is.

Things can change fast. We have no plans of building on campus yet. It might be a few/several years before we do. Anything can happen by that time.

Finally got to Replay last night. Some thoughts:
Not worth a blog post. It's nice, but it's too upscale for students. 16 bucks for 20 wings, they weren't great either. 7 bucks for a very full basket of cheese curds, the same curds as the ones found at the North Point Snack Bar at Bradford Beach...big portion.
Wings were awful, but the parmesan garlic made up for it a little. The wings they have are small, dinky and crappy. No boneless, just these 3/4 bone crappy wings.
Drinks were expensive. 11 bucks for a "Replay Margarita"...it has 1800 tequila in it, which explains the upsell, but I mean come on, it's like a drink in Vegas.
They had a couple UWM things, but all in all there wasn't much memorabilia on the walls at all. Definitely room for improvement, but by the hints that have been laid on this board, my attention in the sports bar category has moved on to something else.

Was that a travel or a Horizon League pivot?

Replay will be out of business before too long just as someone else here stated earlier. Their specials are the exact same ones the twisted fork had. I new someone very well who worked in the marketing department for Roaring Fork, who owns Qdoba as well as Twisted Fork and they were looking for fresh ideas over 3 years ago for that location. At that time they decided they would start running some drink specials for the first time. Well, they're terrible and the bar was losing tons of money just as you would expect and ultimately went with this plan which was originally pitched as more of a college atmosphere Fanatics, with interactive games, weekly leagues and good drink specials.
This place can't complete with upscale sports atmospheres around this city such as Zim's in Cath Square or Fanatics in the Third Ward. You can cross the street and go to Hooligans for better upscale bar food too.
And Jimmy, if you are serious about the bar manager at a location on Oakland please let me know. I have a friend who is a UWM alum and is currently a bar manager at a major bar on North Avenue. I'm sure he would be very interested.

For those of us who are not all that familiar with what is where on the East Side, can you mention where Replay is located?

Went to Replay before the game tonight. Lots of TVs everywhere is the first thing you'll notice. I noticed it was Direct TV, so unless they also have TWC this means next to no Panther games. We seated ourselves, though staff came quickly enough and made us aware of the special of $5 liters of domestics. Very nice deal there. Selection seemed extensive, but I'm a Miller kind of guy.
Food was on the expensive side, but many items were generous in size. I had 9 wings for $8 so that was an exception, but burgers and sandwiches looked piled high and accompanied by a good amount of fries. Food itself was good. My wings were better than most other places, although small. I'll have to check out a burger next time. It took a little while to get the check, when our server came she explained she had a large order. So that combined with seating ourselves means they're probably understaffed for larger crowds. It wasn't terrible and I've undergone much worse at Goolsby's, but it was noticeable.
Atmosphere was great despite the lack of Panther stuff. Didn't check a stadium seating room they have, but it sounded like fun from the cheers I heard. I can only imagine it when a local team is playing. It has its pros and cons, but I'm eager to check it out again.
