This may be a little old news, but James Still of Providence, the ball player who was arrested with Johnnie Lacy when they beat up an innocent Providence student, has transferred to Detroit. Shady character to bring into your program...especially when he's not that good.

I don't believe for a minute that Ray McCallum Sr. would bring a shady character into his program.

In all seriousness, I wish the Titans well this season ... except when we play them. Their re-emergence under Ray Sr. is part of what makes the slate of H League opponents so rugged.

Why would Ray Sr. not bring a SHADY character in? He is the coach of DETROIT after all, right? Lol. Sorry, I know that reference prob. falls mostly on deaf ears.
Seriously though, I would hope that D-bag wouldn't be allowed anywhere near Detroit. Thank heavens we didn't allow Johhny Lacey on campus (as Mark Miller mentioned sounded like a possibility earlier this year)- did anyone get a glimpse of his Twitter page?
I am no "Twitter-er", but when the link was posted here a few months back I took the bait and it wasn't just "mishevious shenanigans" that every college-age kid gets into.. That kid seems (to me at least) like bad, bad news. And I am very familiar with bad people having been associated with more than a few throughout the course of my life.
Kids are kids- but that kid (IAmJLacy) is someone I wouldn't want anywhere near our team. I think we are extremely fortunate to have not just a great group of basketball players- but a great group of people representing UWM on the basketball court.
But with the "winning-trumps-all-say-otherwise-and-lose-your-job" mantra, I won't be surprised when both of them find second chances- I just hope it works out for whoever takes that risk.
I (moreso) hope both of those kids can show some real remorse for their stupidity in Providence and learn to become caring, decent human beings. There is enough violence in the world created by real conflict/disagreement. Senseless violence is the worst kind imaginable, know?
At least he would make for a good chant when we play D-town. Pick & Roll Press anyone?
Btw- Jimmy I hope that will continue. That is a great idea and was well implemented last year- it can only get better once more students flock to The Cell after they see what this season's squad can do.

According to an accompanying press release, the Titans will visit Mississippi State in Starkville on Nov. 22, so ...
I have Detroit going 12-6 in the conference and 19-11 overall in the regular season, pending the outcome of its game against a yet-to-be-determined BracketBuster opponent.

Some good games and some cupcake for Detroit. I know they had a hard time like UWM did last season trying to get a home game for the opener.
