When and if Youngstown State leaves and no replacement more suitable than IPFW can be found, I would advocate keeping the league at nine teams. That would improve by more than 20 points the H League's average RPI per team -- from about 150 to about 130.

Sadly, Fort Wayne no longer torpedoes the Horizon League's RPI (obviously since replaced by the NET).
It always seemed strange to me that the state of Minnesota only had one D-1 program. It’s nice to see that may change soon. The way I see it, the more D-1 programs (particularly mid majors) in the general area, the better
