I like the idea of a football team but you guys are grossly underestimating the cost of a marching band. I did a paper in my undergrad on the band and why they are getting cut from most high schools. articles.sun-sentinel.com/1987-04-13/news/8701230886_1_high-school-band-district-bands-budgets This is from 1987, and when you translate the cost for a band the size a D1 team needs its well over the 150k. the cost of 5 new sousaphones would be 5*7,410= is almost 40k with shipping. Then baritones, mellophones, and a whole drum line. Not to mention the cost that new staff, we need marching staff b/c not many people in the music program know fundamentals of marching nor have marched in their life. then there is the cost of uniforms and music would total 60k. right there we are at 100k just 5 sousaphones and a set of uniforms, Nothing else. if you wanted a pit (the keyboard type instruments) it would set us back much farther. My point is you would have to reasonably set aside 300-350k for a marching band to be started. Don't quote me if this ever gets off the groud haha
The league also is changing the format of the men's and women's tournaments. The seventh through 10th seeds will play in the opening round with the two winners meeting the fifth and sixth in the second round. The winners of those games will play the third and fourth seeds in the third round. The top two seeds will get byes straight to the semifinals.
Clearly the WCC is not taking the advice of the HL geniuses in Indy....
A panther is like a leopard. Except it hasn't been peppered. Should you behold a panther crouch, prepare to say "ouch." Better yet, if called by a panther...don't anther (Ogden Nash "The Panther")
