It's not the bookstore itself, but the individual manufacturers who make such decisions in the absence of a formal style guide; which I seriously our athletic department has ever bothered to put together a considering how much merchandise I see using old logos, academic logos (for athletics purposes) or otherwise are otherwise incorrectly branding the program ("UWM Milwaukee," etc.). I just happened to come across San Diego State's style guide at another board today. Why do we not have something like this? SDSU-Logo-and-Style-Guide |

But on topic this should be sent to Amanda Braun with a letter that talks about how a brand can't be taken seriously unless it takes itself seriously. I can't believe that we don't have something like this already.

Of course the department has a style guide. Those documents are usually kept in-house, but for whatever reason SDSU put their guide online. Why is this such a big deal?

Actually, most schools have their style guides online or otherwise make them as readily available as their media guide... at least the ones who actually want to have their program correctly identified in the media do. Here's Marquette's: MU Logo Standards |

Given the new trend for revenue is college cologne (I wish I was kidding) I think it'd be wise to re-name ourselves the Sex Panthers. 60% of the time, we'll win every time.
