we were sent an email last saturday...it was from "all students" and subject being "Get your UWM-Marquette Ticket Voucher"
It read... (big bold font)Men's Basketball Student Ticket Vouchers
Available Starting Monday
(italics) Represent the Black and Gold!
Vouchers good for Nov. 23 and Nov. 27 contests
(normal font) Beginning Monday Nov. 15, ticket vouchers for University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee students will be available for a pair of upcoming men’s basketball games.
UWM students are asked to stop by the Panther Ticket Office with their student ID to obtain a ticket voucher for home games against Marquette and Western Michigan. Admittance to the games will not be allowed without the voucher, and space is expected to be limited.
The Panther Ticket Office is located off the atrium of the Klotsche Center Pavilion and is open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday.
The home game against Marquette at the U.S. Cellular Arena will begin at 8 p.m. Saturday Nov. 27. Students will also need vouchers for the home game at the Klotsche Center Nov. 23 against Western Michigan, which tips off at 7 p.m."
I picked up my vouchers today at 4:59, I picked up Number 131 for the marquette game and 114 for the Western Michigan game

There is still alot of tickets left for the MU-UWM game. I'm sure everyone on this board has a ticket for the game. But, I'm sure you know someone who doesn't have a ticket for the game. I would think it would be a black-eye if this game is not sold-out.
Let's sellout the Cell!

Does anybody have an update on how many student vouchers have been given out for the MU and Western Michigan game?

I expect there to be a pretty big walkup crowd for the MU game.
I've got a full group coming. Using up all 6 of my tickets (2 regular season tickets and the 4 extra).
I haven't heard anything about it being a "blackout game" yet thou. I would like to see something in the mail, an email, something at the game this weekend, SOMETHING telling the season ticket holders to wear black.

That's a good question. I don't get the feeling that this is being marketed to the students like it should be. Ie, in their FACES every chance they get. This game is the weekend after Thanksgiving, so they better be making a serious effort.
On a side note, I find it humorous that they have vouchers for the Western Michigan game next Tuesday. Students will already be on their way home. Call me pessimistic, but I'd wager we'll be lucky to see 100 show up.
I hope we get a decent turnout for the home opener tomorrow. Sure would be nice to have a student presence and a college atmosphere.

Who would have to give the go-ahead? Memphis wore its blues at home vs. Miami on Monday. I would think the home team would have a choice as to what uni to wear.

It looked somewhat discouraging seeing @ the UNI game that there were still many vouchers still left, though happy that 500+ had been handed out for each game. Also, was happy at the number of student fans that did show up for the home opener. Very encouraging and hope those folks will be coming back and will bring their friends as well.

I don't understand the voucher thing. The ticket office is out of the way for most students. They should have a booth in the Union and/or the dorms.
And what about the students who take night classes? Is the ticket office even open then?
Why did they go to this system?

i understand why they are going with the voucher system, but you are right why cant they go to the union/dorms....especially this week? And what happens if they dont hand them all out? I won't get to the WMU game until 715ish because of a test, am I still guaranteed admission with my voucher?
