this is off the topic but does anyone remeber that old Ben Franklin on Oakland, one night after about 20 $1 Busch Lites @ Axels we were trying to convince someone (to remain nameless) to open a bar there, we wanted to call it "The Den" and have it be the spot before games. Man I thought it was a good idea at the time.

The section should not be renamed. The name "Klotsche Krazies" was came up with a few years ago when we had trouble filling the first two rows of the student section at the Klotsche Center with students. Hell, there only used to be a handfull of people that would stand every game. The way the section has grown in the past 4 years is great, and it is good to see many people becoming actively involved. The whole object of the SBGC a few years back (other than an excuse to booze ) was to try to establish some sort of tradition, somthing for the school and the students to stand on and be proud of. My hopes would be that in 20 years they are still called the Klotsche Krazies as a rememberance to the days when UWM played there, and people such as Bud and Pearl who worked hard to establish UWM hoops to what we have it today. The fact that we play at the Cell I think makes the name that much better, and will hopefully allow students in the future to realize where all this started. Till next time...GO UWM.

one thing i'd love to see done is before our opponent shoots free throws there's a video clip of Brick Tamland saying "LOUD NOISES!" on the scoreboard. that'd be great!

And who knows if the arena will stay named U.S. Cellular Arena? In this day and age, arena/stadium names change as often as Ford mishandles a pass.

When the Minnesota Timberwolves were in their inagural season they used to pipe in wolves howling when the opposing team was shooting freethrows. Get some Panthers growling piped in!!!

I do like Cell Block and I wouldn't let what the Cell wants to get in the way. If it means more students get into the game and spend more at the concession stands they won't really care.
But don't dis the idea of keeping the name because Klotsche is long gone. He is the real founder of UWM.
He's the guy who put the university together. Merging two schools into one. He fought doggedly to get the money to make UWM into a real university. Those buildings on the East side of the campus, Merrill, Mitchell etc where all there was when he took over.
If you think getting money out of the Regents is hard now you should have seen it back then. Hell it took us three years of hard lobbying to get an Athletic Building to replace old Baker fieldhouse. Even when we had a game rained out there, they still wouldn't budge.
Klotsche loved his students. He would go to the then new Union once or twice a week and sit down at a table just to talk about what was going on, what we needed, how could he help.
After we finally got the money out of the State Building Commission for a new Athletic Center I remember talking with Ernie Spaights about naming it after Klotsche. He pointed out the State has a rule against naming buildings after people who are still alive.
But he liked the idea, so did others. He went to bat for it and the for the first time ever, the State named a state building after someone who was still alive. That's how special this man was.
Maybe it's too far in the past for people to care about it anymore but I'd like to think that the same spirit he tried to instill in UWM students then is finally here in that student section.
Call it whatever you think will get them in the stands and fired up, but please understand that there are lots of worse names for it than Klotsche's Krazies

All of the sentiments...I didn't budge for a bit.
But sport, you got me.
We are the Klotsche Krazies.

All right then Krazies it shall remain to be.
Now since the opposing team is playing in the cell they will undoubtly be robbed or even better signs that say "Welcome to OZ" hey if the name changes so does the moniker but why not? The students don't sit in section 101 it should be referred to as Farenheight 101. I don't know the #'s I'm guessing.
Oh by the way Happy Thanksgiving!!!

It's illegal ... NCAA prohibts that. Yeah I knew that but....it was funny I had never heard of anyone doing that in the NBA or NCAA. The NCAA prohibits it but it doesn't prevent the student body from growling or howling loud does it?
