Are the Penguins gonna win the Horizon in 2023? I have a feeling they'll be considered the favorite when pre-season polls come out.

Oakland and Northern Kentucky will garner votes. Lotta offseason left.
Edit: Missed that Faulkner was coming back to Northern Kentucky. They might be the favorite.

YSU gave it a great effort tonight but came up just short in their NIT game against Oklahoma St.

Dear fellow basketball fans,
I cannot help but wonder if Youngstown State's loss to Oklahoma State tonight was the result of the basketball gods punishing the Penguins for their hubris. In particular, I cannot help but think that Dwayne Cohill's recent boastful comments may have played a role in the Penguins' defeat.
As we all know, Cohill recently made some rather arrogant comments about his team's abilities and their chances of winning tonight's game. He seemed to be overlooking Oklahoma State entirely and assuming that the Penguins would win with ease. This kind of hubris is never well-received by the basketball gods, and I cannot help but think that they may have intervened tonight to teach Cohill and his teammates a lesson.
Of course, this is all just speculation on my part, but I think it's worth considering. As basketball fans, we all know how important it is to show humility and respect for our opponents. When we start to believe that we are invincible and can win without putting in the necessary effort, we often end up falling short.
So, while it's certainly disappointing to see Youngstown State lose tonight, perhaps this can serve as a reminder to all of us to remain humble and to never underestimate our opponents. The basketball gods are always watching, and they will not hesitate to punish those who dare to challenge their power.
What do you all think? Do you believe that the basketball gods may have played a role in Youngstown State's loss tonight, or am I just reading too much into things? Let's discuss.

Welcome to the board, P9 triple 0!
It was Oklahoma State's superior front line that dominated down the stretch. YSU had no answer for Moussa Cisse, who was a beast on the boards, altered shots and was an overall massive paint presence. The Penguins were relegated to taking desperate threes and driving into trees. They became as cold as their mascot's natural habitat.

An HL coach begging for money from donors to compete in today's NIL world of college basketball. I hate it, but that is the reality of where we are today and will be in the future. YSU is unique in the HL. On one hand it has football to leverage it's appeal to donors. On the other hand, it's basketball program has to compete with football in it's appeal. I'm not sure which one will outweigh the other as time goes on in this relatively whole new environment.
