Please get out and vote today or tomorrow. At the bottom of the first page you can write in the SBGC code, number 304 and get us money for things like buses and shirts. Everytime you put in 304 its $5 toward our organization! You already pay for this in your tuition but if you don't vote to where it goes then other people get to choose for you
Also remember to vote for MKE members as they have created Panther Football, and have funded multiple Parties with the Panthers. MKE has been the chief supporter of athletics for years now. Bruce knew this and encouraged all of the University's athletes to vote for MKE every year.
Other parties running in this election want to cut funding for athletics and positions as well. Don't let it happen.
Devin and Harker will agree I'm sure, that you need to get out and vote.
VOTE MKE-It's time to Party

His name is Jared (but I can't remember his last name). He's going to be a freshman next year. He's currently a Senior at Whitnall High School. He told me he's getting over a medical condition but hopes to be able to play with us next year. I met him shortly before we took the picture.

yeah...I can honestly say that I am quite surprised that some of those guys were convinced to wear them....although according to some people (who seem to act as though they know more than they really do) some of them are not even in college, so they were probably honored to wear the shirt!!!

A lot of MKE members are friends with basketball players whom they know from class or just from being around campus. (They did not have to be convinced to wear the shirts, they were more than happy to when we asked.) They like us because they all know that we do whatever we can to support athletics. Through the Student Association, MKE members sponsored cookouts at the soccer games the past few years, as well as fan buses to away games. Kerri St. Aubin, a member of the women's team, even ran with us for a senate seat last year, and won! MKE has done a lot in the two years it's been around. Just a few highlights: we increased the number of BOSS vans and extended the hours (from 1am until 2am) this past fall, we've spearheaded a campaign to freeze tuition in the next biennial budget (current projections say it will raise between 4% and 8%, and we are working hard so it won't be raised at all), and our members have created and continue to run the Student Neighborhood Association, which works with neighbors and students in the UWM area to make sure everybody can get along. For next year we're working on a project called Early Textbook Adoption. It will save students more money on textbooks when they buy them and get students more money when they sell their books back. There is hardly any cost to impliment it, and we'll see results within a semester of implimenting it. Textbook rentals, on the other hand, are not feasable for our campus; it's just too big. Besides, none of us who are here now would see the results of it, we'd have to pay for it so those after could enjoy it. Early Textbook Adoption is by far the cheaper and more efficient way to go. If you want more information, please feel free to PM me or ask anyone wearing an "MKE" shirt tomorrow, we will be all over campus. Also, there are two websites below that may be of interest to you: Milwaukee Party Website: www.mkeparty.orgStudent Neighborhood Association Discussion Board: snauwm.proboards26.com/index.cgiI'd be more than happy to answer any of your questions about anything above!

Are people really questioning whether or not Jared is in high school?? Don't know why there would be a picture of a bunch of guys on the team and then some kid who's in high school......if people want to know more about him, you can just look on the bball website and go under the roster and he's listed right there......#5.

I apologize, in the 2 minutes I talked to him, he made it sound like he wasn't on the team yet because of his medical thing so I assumed he was just a recruit visiting for the day. It's an honest mistake. No one's perfect.

So in two years, all that's been done is BOSS now runs an hour longer??? What about stuff that MATTERS library computer lab open past 9? And the whole thing closing at like 1130? I have been here a few years now, and my tuition and books aren't gettin any cheaper. Plus, you got to wait an hour for BOSS so who cares about that? Don't take any of this personal, I just don't see the point?

Like I said, those are just a few of the things we've worked on in the past. There's a lot longer list of accomplishments at our website.
One of our main issues for next year is extending the hours for the Library and more of the campus computer labs. Change doesn't happen overnight, so we have to pick our battles and be patient. Same thing with books. We took a hard look at rentals this past year and it's not going to work, so we found a better plan that we're working on for next year.
People see things the way they are and think there's a lot of stuff they can't change, because the change in these areas can be very subtle. But the reality of it is that there are things that can be changed, as long as people are willing to put forth the effort to do so. That's what we're trying to do, and all we ask is your help by voting for us.

I will vote for you guys, because I like what you say the best. All I am saying, is that I have been hearing these three things for almost 4 years now, and NO change has taken place. I hope you guys get something acomplished, I would love to see it. Just don't make promises you aren't gonna keep, because otherwise you lose all credibility, and no one will give a damn about student government in the future
good luck
