A big part of that is Butler is big. For a brief period, the Bulldogs employed Hayward, 6-8 Howard and 6-11 freshman Andrew Smith simultaneously. Wonder if they will do that on a regular basis.

Sounds like the game wasn't as close as the score would indicate. Butler's 3 point shooting ability is staggering, and I bet will let them hang with anyone in the nation

The real scary thing is they can still win big on a cold shooting night.

And how did they do it? Making 9 of 26 shots from behind the arc is hardly staggering. What's staggering is the way the Bulldogs guarded on the ball and in the passing lane. Who got most of the 50-50 balls? Hint: it wasn't the guys dressed in purple and white. In essence, who wanted it more? Look, our problem isn't scoring 67 points; it's preventing the other team from doing the same. Butler has a staggering commitment to team defense, so does Wright State ... and Cleveland State since Waters' arrival. That's how you win ... and I don't care in what league you play. Stare me down on a 3-pointer and I'm going to make sure that you don't get that same look the next time. It's all about will.

That's exactly right Dylan. UWM can easily match a 9 of 26 three point shooting effort. That's a pretty mediocre to awful shooting percentage. We need to play defense, and that's all about desire and discipline. Until this squad wants it more than the team we're playing, each game will be a struggle. To me, that comes down to coaching. Butler is a fine example of a program that has engrained that notion in each and every player it recruits.
