Gotta think there's a recruiting angle here for Frank Martin. A homecoming for Jacob Pullen perhaps?

Good point, it would be great if Loyola could beat them.

With this commitment, it occurred to me that Loyola is far more representative of Milwaukee and Wisconsin than Marquette is.

Don't expect that to change, BP.
I didn't see this coming. I'm glad for Chim and the Kadima family. I hate seeing so many good kids from Wisconsin go to LU, however.

So what, why does that matter?

So what, why does that matter? It was just a statement. We talk about a lot of things that "don't matter" on this board. Don't get offended. Personally, I struggle to understand how this city's people, specifically sports fans, profess to hate everything Chicago, then throw support behind Marquette. I was in Miller Time Pub shortly following our 9-22 team's defeat of then-No. 1 Wright State. We watched as the Bears beat New Orleans in a snowy NFC title game, then as over a dozen Marquette students ran down Wisconsin Avenue with a giant Chicago Bears flag. Driving down Wells on my way home during the 2008 playoffs, the flags had a big red C on a blue background. Is that story really relevant? I don't know. What I do know is that a grand majority of the MU alumni base comes from the greater Chicago area, and over 6,500 of the 11,000 students come from Chicago and its suburbs. If you asked ten Marquette students if they considered Milwaukee a Chicago suburb, what do you think the answers would be? Their team's history has been built by Chicagoans (Doc Rivers, Dwyane Wade, Bo Ellis, etc.). Perhaps the best proof that Marquette is Chicago property would be the Chicago Tribune, a paper that bolds the Marquette name in BIGEAST standings. Why? Because it's a Chicago team. The fact is, it's completely irrelevant. I just pointed out a simple truth: Marquette has 2 Wisconsin players of any relevance (Sorry Frozee). Loyola has 5. Discussion boards are, in many ways, a forum for irrelevant discussion.

I thought you had a point behind it, like MU should only take state kids. P.S. I missed you at the Pro-Am on Sunday. I thought you were coming?

I got scheduled for work, and couldn't make it unless I traded with someone for Saturday, a day I went to a wedding.
I wish I could have been there.

With 5 Wisconsin players on Loyola, there should be a good following at the Celll when the Ramblers come to Milwaukee.

The only unattractive league game on the home schedule is Youngstown State.
Come to think of it, the only unattractive home game period is Youngstown State ... and perhaps Bowling Green.

Is Loyola flying under the radar? All five starters and Gibler back, and a couple fair recruits.
These guys were very tough to beat in Rogers Park last year.

No. We know how good they are, and it's not terribly great. This is a team that went 9-6 at home because they played a bunch of garbage in non-conference and inflated the 3-6 conference home record.
