My favorite poster from any of the other message boards is UIC's Big D.
His rants are so spot-on that the university would be advised to take notes.
I really feel for those guys.

In four-plus seasons, Howard Moore is now 41-93.
That's a winning percentage of .306.

This hire strikes no fear within this Panther fan.

Didn't we sweep three games from Wyoming from 2006-08?

The Flames just signed former Green Bay commit Julian Torres, a 6-foot-8 forward from Chicago.

I'll just say that I'd be really surprised if the Flames finish lower than sixth.

Enthusiasm runs high in Chicago, again. The basketball pot is being stirred not only by a new coach but a new chancellor who cut his teeth in the SEC and is no stranger to athletics like the previous chancellor and ruling group.
The chancellor's enthusiasm and commitment is even more important, as you guys can attest to first hand, as well.
Haven't bounced a ball yet or played a game but the bar and expectations have been raised at UIC right now and going forward. Howard Moore did nice job of cleaning house from JC's mess but couldn't find the emotional and tactical skills to get results on the floor.
McLain will have a shorter leash, for sure.....................

McLain will have a shorter leash, for sure..................... Well, I don't think he'll be signed to a lucrative, long-term contract after an 18-16 season. That's for sure.

There's no leash. That's the word on the street.

Depends how you look at it. Not right now but I guarantee there won't be five more 20 loss seasons with the same coach in the seat............. 18-16 won't get a contract extension, either, but will be expected...... Second season will need to feature a high Horizon league finish, 20 wins and post season play......
The new chancellor made the coaching change. Not the "old" guard, and did so without her advice, consent or knowledge as one of his first orders of business on campus. No new chancellor, no new coach, plain and simple.
There's a new sheriff in town and his thoughts on the place of athletics at UIC are much different than before. Results will be required by all, now.

Here's one vote that UIC, our sister school, is upwardly mobile within the standings.
I've got them finishing between Detroit and Wright State in fifth place.
