Haha I like your train of thought.

I think we should try to improve one game day experience at a time. Men's basketball is far more important with the type of revenue it can bring in for the AD. We want to do a few things well as opposed to many things mediocre.

BTW, I'd be willing to donate/tip the band for coming down to Goolsby's and I'm assuming other Panther fans would do the same.

playing at goolsby's before the game shouldn't be a problem. We are at the cell more than an hour before the game and really just sit around. As long as somebody at Goolsby's signs off and there is room we could get a little band to play a set.

This would be great for the pregame atmosphere. I love the UWM band and you guys do a great job before and during the games.

As for the band at Goolsby's, I like the idea. But another awesome thing we can do with them is inside the arena.
They are in the arena an hour before the game. How about this: from 1 hour to 15 minutes before game time, certain sections of the pep band play from different parts of the arena.
Have the tubas march around the concourses, the trumpets playing from different sections, and the trombones in the atrium. You can really get people psyched up. The hour before gametime now is really just a whole bunch of rap music and no real interesting stuff. I assume that has a part in many people coming after gametime--nothing worth seeing beforehand.

I like it but I think it would be more practical to basicly split it up into three 10 piece bands. 1: Goolsby's 2: The Atrium 3: Roaming the concourse. they play up until about 45 minutes before tip, and by then people start making their way into the arena and the band needs to get set up for the actual game.
Also mwu I can probably get a couple of miscellaneous percussion pieces for soccer games, and I believe the old P-Band bass drum is being retired so we could probably get that too.

I like the idea of playing the alma mater. Even if the song sucks. It's a tradition. I think half time is the best time to do it. Have the PA announce it. Not saying that people will sing or anything but waving the UWM flag at half court while it's played wouldn't be a bad idea either.

Only problem with Goolsbys is if there is a big crowd in there (i.e. Bucks or MU game coinciding with ours) then they probably won't allow the band inside...
