Hey, we get to vote. Of course, the mud slinging from each side has grown to epic proportions. They've even gone as far as to use my name fraudulently to endorse a party. Apparently I'm all for SUFC (I'm not) according to the post by "Jimmy Lemke" on here: www.uwmpost.com/article/52/27/3394-SUFC-wants-your-voteOur SA is completely out of control. Thought you should know, folks.

I saw in the JS that the opposition has been completely throw off the ballet. The SA is a joke and someone from the university needs to step in and clean house. I remember a few years ago when I was still in school one member from SA board found a loop hole where they could give themselves a raise by just voting on it, thought it was a good idea and they all voted to give themselves a raise. What a joke

completely agree that the SA is a joke. I didn't vote the last two years I was there b/c neither had realistic goals and I never saw any progress in my few years there.

In any case,
If you're a student and haven't voted yet, use the check-off funding to vote for us:
Student Black and Gold Club.................# 329 Student Black and Gold Club.................# 329 Student Black and Gold Club.................# 329 Student Black and Gold Club.................# 329
We need the cash for the big plans I have for the SBGC next year.
And for those of you who are planning to attend the meeting, I'll be in the Klotsche Center's conference room in the athletic department from 2 p.m. until 4:45. We'll have the sign-up for the street team as well as planning for many events and gameday promotions for next season.
Send me a PM if you'd like to be on the Street Team but don't have time to get down here tomorrow. Do the same if you have any ideas for the Klotsche Krazies in the fall.

One of my favorite memories for the SA elections was when one of the parties was taken off the ballot b/c of 20-30 election violations they were charged with in a matter of weeks. Dumbasses.

I managed the campaign of the pro-atheltics party when it took over what was then simply called Student Government back in the 70's. The incumbants refused to declare us the winners because they said we helped people fill out ballots (which we did). They said it violated the principle of a secret ballot. We said that some students were confused on who to vote for in the Senate elections and came to our campaign booth to find out who our candidates were.
We appealed to the Student Court and won when one of their supporters admitted that he had done the same thing. If the Student Court is still around that might be an avenue to approach.
In any event, it's worth voting to get some money to the Black and Gold Club!

The problem with going to the Student Court is that they are also members of the ruling SUFC party.

Well then, what someone needs to do is build a coalition to get people together, campaign at the election booths (or as close to them as you can get). Our coalition included the Black Student Union, the athletes, the dormies (we ran the dorm prez for SG prez), and a few other smaler groups. We won by 50 votes.

SA election rules disallow campaigning after midnight on the day of the election.
They've done a ton of crap in the last year to rewrite the laws to keep themselves in power.
