My brother-in-law is the manager at Karma. Been in there a few times and it's a nice place to belly up for a beer and watch a game.

Record: 0 - 1 Last Game: L 45 - 61 - Butler Fan Site: www.bsufans.com/Probable Starters:F 01 PERRY, Malik - 6'4 FR F 32 NEWELL, Anthony - 6'5 SR G 03 GOINS, Melvin - 5'9 FR G 04 LAMPLEY, Brandon - 6'0 JR G 12 STOVALL, Peyton - 6'1 SR Leaders from last game:Points: Newell - 16 Rebounds: Stovell - 12 Assists: Stovell - 3 pre-game thoughts:With only 9 scholarship players and nobody listed taller then 6'5 on the Ball state Roster, the Milwaukee big men should be able to have huge days on the offensive end. What concerns me is that if Rob Jeter sticks with the same starting line up as the Upper Iowa game, Paige Paulsen will be matched up on a guard on the defensive end although with the threat of Torre Johnson on the back side blocking shots, this shouldn't be as big of a problem as it has been in the past. Rebounding from the guards and contesting shots will be a huge factor since BSU attempted 14 3s and only connected on 1 attempt, so the guards must box out and contain the long rebounds. Roman Gentry needs a bounce back game because Ricky Franklin and Deonte Roberts are chomping at the bit to make a push into the starting lineup.

I wouldn't be surprised to see Paulsen take on one of the forwards and Torre guard Stovall. He has the athleticism and quickness...

Does anyone know what the plans are for Anthony Hill? Will he play against Ball State? If so, will he be the 7-9 man off the bench? I'm assuming through his play thus far he's not redshirting.

Hill cannot redshirt because he played against Upper Iowa ... that wasn't an exhibition.

If Anthony were to get hurt for the season, he could medically redshirt since he played in less than 15% of our games. But I like him in the lineup.

Looking at Ball State's starting lineup, I wouldn't be at all surprised to see Ricky inserted as a third guard and replacing Paige in the starting lineup. This year's team has flexibility that last year's simply didn't have.

Doesn't it make more sense to make Ball State worry about matching big (since they don't have any bigs) instead of us trying to match small?
I'd keep the starting lineup the same and adjust as necessary. Paige is capable of guarding some guards.

I agree with BBFran. Let's not worrying about matching up with them. We have a different team this year, make opponents worry about matching up against us.

I agree 100% with BBFran, I think Paige is capable of guarding some guards, and in the event that Paige is getting beat off the dribble have Paige and Torre switch. I think we need to keep Paige in the starting line up so he can stack up minutes and find his shot in time for the harder competition down the road. Also this year Paige has brought A LOT more to the table despite his offensive drought. He's making great cuts, making great passes, creating for other players, and playing really smart basketball. He might not be as vocal as others, but he is for sure a leader by example.
GO PANTHERS!!!

the only way he can redshirt even if hurt, is if he appealed to the NCAA for injury redshirt. Also, didnt read everything else before this but Butler beat Ball State by 16

"Roman Gentry needs a bounce back game because Ricky Franklin and Deonte Roberts are chomping at the bit to make a push into the starting lineup."
Couldn't agree more with this statement.

About Paige...you could also say that since he will be matched up against a smaller guard, he should have a big night on the offensive end. Unless Ball State plays a zone.
He'll be able to shoot right over the top of his man from outside, and post him up down low.
This will be one of the few teams this year we'll have a size advantage against. Exploit that.

I, for one, cannot wait to watch this game. My son was born on Nov. 1st...the night of the Parkside game and last Friday, the night of the Upper Iowa game, I had a business dinner to attend. Basically what I'm saying is that I haven't even seen this team play yet and am very excited to be able to catch this game. Thank God for TimeWarner Sports...
I wish I could offer more thoughts, but like I said I haven't even watched this team yet.
GO Panthers!

Congrats Brian!
18 years from now, when you're son is starting at UWM, he can say he was born on the first day of the NCAA champion's season in 2007!
