UWM vs. Loyola -- 1/6/07

Time to start a thread for tomorrow's game. I'm not sure if Schilb is back, he didn't play last night against CSU. I know Schilb always drops 20+ on UWM, but the Loyola offense always seemed content to stand around and watch Blake do his thing. This years Loyola team scares me with with Blount's ability to take it to the rim and draw contact. The match-up I look forward to seeing is Avo vs Kou. Hopefully Avo takes it at Kou since Kou gets frustrated very quickly and will let his emotions get the best of him. Avo's and Ricky's ability to rebound from the guard position will play a huge part in this game.

It's also time for Al to step up, His teammates have and it is time for Al to bring more than a 3 point shot to this team.

Schilb may drop 20 but he has never beaten UWM...I think he may have lost like 9 times against us...for sure 8...cant remember if three years ago we played them in the horizon tourney or not..but either way we have been a thorn in his side...but I do predict the hot streak continues..even though I have missed the last couple of home games it appears they are getting much better

If I remember a few years back, UWM dropped an OT game at Loyola, the score was like 102-99 or something like that, when Bruce was here. Either way, it IS time for Al to step up. I think he needs to develop somewhat of a little touch around the rim. He gets deep behind the defense, but can not finish. If Ricky rebounds today like he did against Detroit, could be a good UWM win!

BBall, I believe that was the last Loyola road game of the Bo Ryan Era. Bo was given a critical technical late in the game for saying something like, "Too bad the real refs couldn't make it." The Loyola trip is always a fun one and I hope that many of you can make it.

This should be a good game today and a very winnable one no matter if Schilb plays or not IMO. They need to continue to avoid the long scoring droughts and contain Blount to give themselves the best chance to get the first road win of the year.

I am looking forward to watching Polka as I have never seen him play. See for myself if we are really missing anything by not getting him.

I think the team is really getting things and have some confidence coming into the game today.

Al is a liability. He is careless with the ball, and doesn't offer much by means of scoring. ALSO if I have to listen to these crappy announcers refer to Loyola as "we" I'm gonna crap. And apparently Schilb can do whatever he wants "all day"

Actually I think the announcers are pretty good. They are after all Loyola announcers. I think we need to do a better job of shot selection and protecting the ball if we're going to win this game.

Hey guys is that the most points you have scored in a first half. After watching a few LU games now I noticed they are not as good as people were talking about. However, UWM is starting to improve, good luck I hope you pull this one out.
