based on Bid's comments after the game, it sounds like Thornton's doing exactly what the coaches are telling him to do. A couple of the shots that he missed were so far down it was amazing they found a way to pop back out of the basket. that's his role and he definitely got the crowd into the game when he hit those long shots. Yeah, well you can mark my word that those shots are going to be the shots that hurt us in the future.

what in the heck is Thornton's problem? Who in the heck does he think he is? Has he ever heard of team ball? Why is he launching all those shots? If this is what he was given a scholarship for, UWM is in bad shape! He needs to understand what a team concept is all about. What are the coaches telling him? I believe that's what Jeter wants him to do when he is in the game. They set up plays specifically for him to launch 3's.

Yeah, well I can also see at least one game this year where the kid gets really hot and ends up 8 for 10 from 3. And I'm sure he's going to have several big time shooting performances for us in the years to come. It's obvious the kid can shoot and will shoot from anywhere on the court. Plus being 6'7" and a very quick release he's not going to need much room to get his shot off. A couple of his shots were off last night because I thought he rushed them a bit. Once he learns not many guys will be able to block his shot, he'll settle down.

Thornton was sub of the game, and he's already got a nickname. I think radio summed it up pretty well, don't you?

Some HL teams are broadcasting all of their home games this year. UIC's game today is online. WSU's exhibition game was also online. I envy them. I miss the Panthers. Bud? Chuck? Please?

Hi... I think you will be able to watch the game at UNI on their new streaming video system at unipanthers.com
I think they're eventually going to charge for it, but for the first few games I'm pretty sure it's free. For those of you who might be in extreme western Wisconsin, the game will be carried on Fox 28 out of Cedar Rapids, Ia.
