Not trying to flame here, but the highest I have seen UWM is 4th in preseason rankings with most having you around 7ish. Is it truly realistic to be looking for a league title? There seems to be some talent, but it is all unproven. My money is on Loyola followed by GB.

There is little question that the smart money is on Loyola, followed by Green Bay, Detroit and probably UIC. At that point, it begins to get somewhat murky. Wright State has a lot of unknowns and a shallow bench. Butler has only two starters back and a number of question marks. Milwaukee would be in that mix.

where did you see UWM ranked fourth? I hadn't heard that anyone had us projected to finish that well

Truth be tole those are only predictions....Go back the past several years and other than UWM being favored to win the title take a look where everyone else finished up...It was a total bumblef*** and the predictions were incorrect....You can put very little into projections as they are often incorrect especially when they are basing it on the same thing we are (Speculation)

UWM will finish top 3 in the league and will contend for a league title...When it comes to March and we did so, I dont want to hear anyone saying they called it cause eveyrone on here is saying no higher than 4th (AT least from what I have read)

Actually, I held a seance with the ghosts of Freak, McDade and Hack and we came to the conclusion that Milwaukee would be back on top next year on the shoulders of its two finest recruiting classes (in terms of rankings) ever. Auuuuuummm.

very true. in last year's HL preseason poll, GB was predicted to finish 7th, and had the 5th youngest team in all of D1 bball. they ended up tying for 3rd. i'm not saying something like this will happen to us but never say never.

(hack was a fixture here for quite sometime and even dedicated a blog to UWM basketball but I think the legend vanished sometime after the end of last season.)
